Pantera61 Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Is anybody else experiencing the forum being irritatingly slow loading? I'm set to accept cookies, cleaned the cache. let the cache fill, etc. Thanks Quote
Uncle Leo Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I have found the same. What I did was log out, as I am always logged in. I then log back in and it seems to help for a while. This has been happening on and off for 1 week now. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted January 27, 2010 Super User Posted January 27, 2010 Was very slow about 30 mins ago...seems to be fine now. Quote
Boogey Man Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 It goes in spells, sometimes OK, sometimes slow. Same at work and home computer. Quote

CFFF 1.5 Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 It has been slow for me too and I think for a lot of other people because I have been seeing a lot of double posts lately. It seems to load faster if you click the link wait 5 seconds and then click the link again. I am running a fresh install of Windows 7 Premium and Firefox 3.5.7. Same issues with IE8. Quote
zero limit Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Same here too, I thought it was my computer. Today seems slower than ever Quote

Super User CWB Posted January 27, 2010 Super User Posted January 27, 2010 Seems to be slow most of the time lately. Everything else loads fine. Maybe too much B.S. saved. Quote
Boogey Man Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 O.K....now I'm getting the same...fast...slow, ect, ect..wonder whats goin on..? Could be the number of users..? Intermittent problems here also. Does that mean some of us have to go, LOL? Will it be the newbies, junior members, full members, or will Glenn just pick? Maybe he could make a reality show like "Survivor-Bass Resource" ? Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 27, 2010 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 27, 2010 Sorry to hear about the problems you're having guys. I'm a bit puzzled by it simply because I've spent the better part of 2 months optimizing the site and server to run faster and faster. So I am a bit perplexed. I can tell you one thing: it has nothing to do with how many members we have on at any given time, nor the volume of pages (or BS lol!). Since it's intermittent, it makes the problem very difficult to solve. That said, I'm beginning to wonder if there's an issue at my host provider instead of the site or server, since I've done everything I can to make those faster. I'll keep looking into this and see if my host provider has any answers. Glenn Quote
Super User firefightn15 Posted January 27, 2010 Super User Posted January 27, 2010 I don't think it's the site. I'm having the same problem no matter where I go on line, I hit the button for a link, it partially loads and stalls. Hit the button again and it finally loads completely. I think it's the Chinese. :-/ Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted January 27, 2010 Super User Posted January 27, 2010 I have been going to other sites for the last 2 hrs..all load fine..except BR.. And it's till hit or miss re: loading time..I'm sure Glenn will get it figured out, if it's on the back end.. Quote
Super User Micro Posted January 27, 2010 Super User Posted January 27, 2010 I replied to this right after Pantera posted it, but I just got on. Only kidding. It's working pretty well for me. When this site is slow, every other site is slow for me. I think it's heavy traffic with my ISP. Quote
frogtog Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 It's dose dad gum smilies really every time I'm trying to post and hit the smilies button, the post locks up. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 28, 2010 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 28, 2010 Ok folks, help me figure out what's going on. Please do the following: 1. Go to http://winmtr.sourceforge.net/winmtr_bin.zip 2. Choose to Open the file when prompted. (The Zip utility on your computer should open the zip file and show the contents.) 3. Extract the file contents to a folder on your computer. To perform a traceroute using WinMTR: 1. Locate the file where you extracted the zip file. 2. Click the "WinMTR.exe" file. (The WinMTR window opens.) 3. Enter bassresource.com in the Host field. 4. Click "Start". WinMTR begins sending packets to the IP address. 5. When the "Sent" number reaches 50 click "Stop". 6. Finally, copy from the clipboard and send a paste of this report to me via PM. Thanks!! Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 28, 2010 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 28, 2010 Just to clarify - run the report only when you're experiencing site slowness. Thanks!! Quote
