basser89 Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Shave in the shower. Can't get the hair much softer than in a nice hot shower. I can get most of it in there (and I've never gotten cut while doing this) and any little touch ups are done right after I get out. No shave gel required. ;D Quote
tholmes Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Go with the beard. I haven't been clean-shaves since I was 18, and that was 40 years ago. Just a little clean-up around the edges, and I'm good to go. Tom Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I don't remember exactly why but once my wife and I went somewhere and I had left all my shaving stuff at home. Well she had her stuff just disposable razors and some stuff called skintimate shaving gel. Well I used both and I have never had a better shave. So now and go ahead and laugh but I use womens disposable 2 blade razors and skintimate for women cream when I shave. Works for me. Go ahead laugh if you want but hey it does the truck for me. All the other stuff I tried felt like I was using a dull butter knife to shave with Okay.. HAHAHAHAHAHA Quote
1inStripes Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Try waxing. Not that bad once you get used to it...... Quote
Luke at Gouldsboro Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 I shave my head and face, I shave in the shower after I'm all clean. Use pre-shave oil to soften your whiskers, apply shaving cream, and use a fusion, or something with at least 4 blades. I tried the electrics, and if the blades are dull, and your whiskers are long, it pulls them out. OUCH!!!! from experience Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted January 30, 2010 Super User Posted January 30, 2010 Anyone else learn how to shave before Al Gore invented the internet? 1 Quote
Jaheff Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Tip # 105... Dry your blades with a blow dryer after your done, makes your razor last three times longer. Quote
Korea_Bassin Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 I like to shave with a dull razor, cold water and no shaving cream. I've done that when I was in the army. Shaving from a canteen cup....not a pleasant experience! Quote
Pantera61 Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 dry face and this blade! the serrated side is for pimple and ingrown hair removal Quote
Pond Hopper Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Tip # 105... Dry your blades with a blow dryer after your done, makes your razor last three times longer. Or keep them in a cup with rubbing alcohol or rinse them in alcohol after getting them wet. It displaces the water on the blades. Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted January 31, 2010 Super User Posted January 31, 2010 Invest in a straight edge. I shave once a week. Quote
Fat-G Posted September 17, 2011 Author Posted September 17, 2011 This whole shaving thing blows. I thought it would be cool and manly to be able to grow a beard but it sucks. I don't mind the face but the neck is a PITA. Sweating right after you shave...hurts like hell. I'm just going to grow a grizzly aws beard like Dave said. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted September 17, 2011 Super User Posted September 17, 2011 Wow old topic funny this is I was gonna make a thread about shaving just the other day after some comments from some new guys in my unit. They couldent belive I was just sitting at my tent with a disposable razor dry shaving against the grain with out even wincing. Even when I'm home I only shave my neck unless its befor a drill weekend and I still dry shave when I have a sink and cream if I want it. But grow a grizzly beard its what I do I shave once a month unless on post. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted September 17, 2011 Global Moderator Posted September 17, 2011 I have to shave every day because we aren't allowed to have beards at work and they do inspections on occasion (some guys even have to shave again at work!) Tried an electric razor and it chewed my face up bad! Now I use a Mach 3 and Gillette Gel and have pretty good luck with it. Quote

Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted September 17, 2011 Super User Posted September 17, 2011 Used to use a fusion on my face and mach3 on my head. Now I stick with my great great granddads straight razor. It's the closest shave I have ever gotten in my life. I can do all but the back of my head with it. My wife takes care of that for me. Sometimes she'll even do my face and entire head. How many of Yall have a wife that's willing to help u shave? Quote

dulouz Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I hate shaving! I have a goatee and long sideburns so there is very little I have to shave. Generally I don't shave on the weekends, or any other day when I am not at work. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted September 18, 2011 Super User Posted September 18, 2011 I hate shaving my neck. Get ingrown hairs like a mofo. I use my clipper set to zero and go at it that way. Much less painful for me. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted September 18, 2011 Super User Posted September 18, 2011 I use the original fusion and Original Edge. Best shave i've had besides the barber shop. Quote
Fat-G Posted September 18, 2011 Author Posted September 18, 2011 There's nothing you can do either... Letting it grow just itches liie crazy an shaving is such a pain. I'm already tired of this. Clary you could use a spoon to shave your peach fuzz brotha Quote
