Super User Root beer Posted January 27, 2010 Super User Posted January 27, 2010 Ice cold sweet tea is usually my beverage of choice, but I decided to try tea hot, and I've came to like it. Any recommendation? Quote
Fishing Doug Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I drink a lot of hot tea. "Republic of Tea" is my favorite brand. I like most of the green and white teas. http://www.republicoftea.com/ Quote
quanjig Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 We have a tea shop called Teavana here in northern va. I have always been a hot tea drinker especially a nice Earl Grey. This place has some absolutly amazing teas!! I usually go thru a couple of ounces in a 3 week period. Equals out to about 3 cups a day. I feel better after a nice cup of cha!! Quote

The same friend gave me a "sleeping" tea last night, and I slept pretty good, I felt more relax going to bed and it helped me shut my mind off. It had a spearmint after taste to it. Quote
quanjig Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 See if you can find a place that sells loose teas (not tea bags) and a nice tea pot. I think you will find those to be better quality teas. A place like that should be able to show you how to properly store your tea for optimum flavor and freshness. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted January 27, 2010 Author Super User Posted January 27, 2010 I searched Teavana and they have a website that I can order from. Quote
brushhoggin Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 green tea and earl grey are all you really need. no sugar. and i agree on the loose leaf logic, much more quality in it. Quote
quanjig Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Root, check out masala chai, aruvedic(sp), toasted nut brule. Those are big in my rotation right now. Quote
Sfritr Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 My suggestion is to stick with either one of these styles: Long Island Long Beach Equally refreshing...... Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted January 28, 2010 Super User Posted January 28, 2010 Nothing like sweetouchnee tea, robust with lots of flavor. Old timers drink it from a glass with a cube of sugar between their teeth....eastern European fare. Most teas are terrible weak, I'll take Jamaican Blue Mountain. Quote
-nick- Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I'm not sure if this is in the same category as what you're talking about, but my mom and grandma make something called Russian Tea and it's delicious. It's made with Tang and some tea and other stuff. haha Quote
Super User Root beer Posted January 28, 2010 Author Super User Posted January 28, 2010 I'll take Jamaican Blue Mountain. Are they really as good as the review says they are? I saw the advertisement in Jamaica when I was down there, but I have yet to buy one. I almost got my dad a box set for Christmas from their website, but still haven't quite pulled trigger. lol. Is there a place you can buy them in the state to avoid possible huge shipping charge? Quote
Sfritr Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 If the tea is anything like the coffee I would HIGHLY recommend it. Very expensive coffee but MMMMMmmmmmm good. Some higher end coffee/tea shops carry it from time to time. Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Japanese loose leaf green tea. It's an acquired taste, but I really enjoy it. Additionally, the health benefits are incredible. http://chinesefood.about.com/library/weekly/aa011400a.htm Quote
