i would reply but we're tinkering with the not-allowed political discussion. i will say that those people need to rise up and over throw their government. its interesting how the thriving, prosperous Dominican Republic is right next door

Their is a difference between "aid" and "relief." Right now, I would imagine almost 100% of the money that has been donated is going to "relief"-- meaning food, water, shelter, and emergency services. If we were just talking about aid I might agree with this guy, but this money being used to save lives IMMEDIATELY.

Goverments of places like that need to step up..How long do you throw $$$ at these places..? And Who tracks all the $$$$ that goes there..?

I disagree with the article, these Haitians are a victim of a natural disaster, even countries that have economic resources would still need help, water, food, medical, clean up and relocation of orphaned babies and children that cannot defend for themselves.

Under normal conditions I am not a fan of nation building, but in this case I support it.  Everyone knows the reason why they are poor so I won't get into a political conversation about.
