Bobby Uhrig Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Hands down possibly one of the best movies ever made. Thanks to Dozer sending my son 2 fandango movie tickets for Christmas -I got to see AVATAR with my son last night. The first thing I said was eh not another freakn animated junk movie like the Clone Wars. I talked to some friends that had seen it and they said Bobby Just Go= I will not get into details to ruin it for others but from the first moment it started -I was glued. The animation was unlike anything else I had ever seen-the graphics were incredible-the storyline was great-3D awesome- The imagination and detail that went into this movie was second to none- The best movies I think are the ones that actually let you feel like you are there or part of it-relatable++++TITANIC MAN has raised the bar on every account by creating this movie- Oh again this movie was sold out and its been sold out every day here since it started- now I know why. Again Dozer pulls through-just dont think that I'm easing up on you for this Dozer- If you hadnt seen it -GO you will enjoy it. Quote
fish-fighting-illini Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Most I've heard from liked it but one of my older kids didn't like it at all. She said " it's just a lame Ferngully re-peat" She's in graphic design so you'd have thought that she would have appreciated it? Quote
soccplayer07 Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 The best movie I have seen. 3-d is the only way to go! Quote

Finally someone that gets it, well....not gonna say lame because I really liked it but it is basically a live action-ish Ferngully...with blue cat people. Quote
Super User Tin Posted January 25, 2010 Super User Posted January 25, 2010 Are you guys hooking up? epic Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 25, 2010 Super User Posted January 25, 2010 I liked it, too! http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1261349236/0 Look through this thread, Fourbizz posted a review that is VERY insightful. 8-) Quote
Stringjam Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Visually very stunning. The story - - absolute poop. Had all the depth of a coloring book. How many times is Hollywood going to rehash this story? Are they really that devoid of creativity? It's almost like watching a Saturday morning cartoon ....you can pretty much guess what cliche' line the characters are going to say next. Normally I wouldn't care to give such a scathing review, but with the time and money dumped into this project, what they came up with is almost insulting. The technology should serve the story.....in this case, the story was pulled out of the same recycle bin that Dances With Wolves, Pocahontas, Last Samurai, on and on and on came out of. Pretentious BS. JMHO....don't hate me. ;D Quote
Pitchinkid Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Are you guys hooking up? LOL HA HA (in my best Nelson from The Simpsons voice) Quote

I have seen it twice and plan on seeing it again this weekend! Blue chickies ROCK! 8-) Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 I kinda thought the blue chick was hot LOL!!! Stands with fist?? I wouldn't cheat on her- she will kick your *** if she found out. Anyway we could all see the foreshadowing of the end. still a great movie and the graphics were very innovative. TA TONKA Quote
Super User burleytog Posted January 26, 2010 Super User Posted January 26, 2010 the biggest money grossing show of all time! Are you using that as a validation of the film's quality? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 26, 2010 Super User Posted January 26, 2010 Nope, just popularity. I'm actually a huge fan of the B movies. My general criteria is: loud, violent and a little T&A! No plot, dialogue or character development required. Terminator & Conan series, Heat, Miami Vice, We Were Soldiers, Troy, Rambo, Die Hard series... that kinda stuff. AVATAR fits the profile. 8-) Quote

AVATAR fits the profile. 8-) Terminator and Rambo were both great movies!! Terminator: Salvation was probably the best of the sci-fi movies that came out last year. I think Avatar fits more in the profile of Toy Story and Ice Age. ;) Avatar is the Miley Cyrus of Sci-Fi. Quote
fish-fighting-illini Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Now I enjoyed Toy Story I thought the idea of it was refreshing. Some of it was just plain funny. Quote

Super User Long Mike Posted January 27, 2010 Super User Posted January 27, 2010 Well this old fart (me) has actually paid real money to go to a theater and watch a number of movies in the last twenty years. The movies exclusively included all of the Star Wars and all of the Lord of the Rings episodes. Avatar is next - this week-end. Quote
