Super User fourbizz Posted January 22, 2010 Super User Posted January 22, 2010 You guys are dense. That is most certainly a miner's retort to those that want mining banned. No coal = no heat, no power. Quote
Super User firefightn15 Posted January 22, 2010 Super User Posted January 22, 2010 Yeah, well ya got me on that one. I was busy looking at the shiny spot; it had me side tracked. : Quote
Super User Lund Explorer Posted January 22, 2010 Super User Posted January 22, 2010 Wow, you guys have got to start reading the news after visiting here. There's been several big write-ups on the fights between the miners and the greenies lately. Burley can probably tell it better, but the last one i saw dealt with topping off a mountain <?> or something like that. Quote

Koop Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Ask the short sighted tree huggers who think electric cars are the future. Where do they think the electricity that recharges the batteries comes from ? hydro and solar maybe a wind farm here and there Not entirely sure how looking beyond coal is being short sighted though? tyrius. Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Ask the short sighted tree huggers who think electric cars are the future. Where do they think the electricity that recharges the batteries comes from ? I'd be all over the volt if it was a 5 passenger. The concept of driving 40 miles without using gas is sweet. Oh and the cars are typically charged at night when a large percentage of electricity produced is just wasted because it isn't being used. So, it's actually a win win. Simple logic. Quote
