-nick- Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Good stuff I like watching him fight and can't wait to see who will be able to take him down. As for Canadian doctors.... : Quote
Super User 5bass Posted January 20, 2010 Super User Posted January 20, 2010 Good....Mir should be ready by then. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 20, 2010 Super User Posted January 20, 2010 Good....Mir should be ready by then. Yeah, I think his face should be healed up from the last BEATDOWN delivered by Lesnar. You're as bad as Kent with Shimano/Loomis. ;D Quote
Super User 5bass Posted January 20, 2010 Super User Posted January 20, 2010 Good....Mir should be ready by then. You're as bad as Kent with Shimano/Loomis. ;D Yeah, okay. P.S. if you have issues with Kent, leave me out of it. ;D Quote
-nick- Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Good....Mir should be ready by then. Mir will definitely be ready by then. I'm going to be pretty ticked if Carwin can pull off the W against Mir cause I'm sure Mir will get the next win against Lesnar. Quote
Pitchinkid Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I love Mir. But there is no way in hell he can beat Lesnar again Quote
-nick- Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I love Mir. But there is no way in hell he can beat Lesnar again Old Mir couldn't. It was obvious his first fight was just Lesnar being an idiot. But I believe Mir has been working hard and will give Lesnar a great fight. Quote
Fishing Doug Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Good....Mir should be ready by then. I would like to see this fight again, but I have to say, I think Mir is going to have his hands full with Carwin. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted January 21, 2010 Super User Posted January 21, 2010 Wow, another Mir/Lesnar fight? Yeah, that'll get people to buy a PPV! The only reason Mir won the first fight was Lesnar's lack of skill. Mir was getting killed in the first fight and got his *** beat in the second. A third would be more of the same. Quote

Super User 5bass Posted January 21, 2010 Super User Posted January 21, 2010 You WWE worshipers are killin' me with this Lesnar talk. I gotta say though, Lesnar's going to be tough for anyone to beat now that he's figured out the 'rug n pound'. Lay on 'em like a rug and hit 'em in the face. FishinDoug...you are probably right. Super User 5bass Posted January 21, 2010 Super User Posted January 21, 2010 Lesnar's time in the WWE is why I watch UFC. No kidding?? I would have never guessed. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted January 21, 2010 Super User Posted January 21, 2010 nobody says anything about GSP doing the same with BJ & alves... Did you see the last Mir/Lesnar fight? Sure he got Mir down but it was what he did after they hit the mat. Obviously he learned wrist control and pretty much had Mir stretched out in a way that he just couldn't move. GSP could take BJ down but he couldnt immobilize BJ. Not like Lesnar did to Mir in the 2nd fight. I agree though, Lesnar is a freak of nature. BJ moved up and fought GSP at 170. Then between rounds GSP had his cornermen rubbing vaseline all over him. How was BJ supposed to get a grip on GSP like that? ;D Quote
Fishing Doug Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 i also think maybe just maybe him having an outstanding collegiate wrestling background & being a NCAA heavyweight champ had a little bit to do with him taking anyone down at will and pounding them out... one of the best bases which many have in mma, is wrestling... nobody says anything about GSP doing the same with BJ & alves... I don't have a problem with the fact that Lesner is a wrestler or that he came from the WWE. I have a problem with the fact that he is an extreme d-bag. Example: his reaction after the second Mir fight. Quote
Super User Tin Posted January 21, 2010 Super User Posted January 21, 2010 Loosing 40 pounds is hard to make up in a matter of 5-6 months, I don't care who you are. He will never be the same again. I have been on super high doses of steroids for the past 4 months, at the gym 5 days a week for hours, and take in about 5000 calories a day and have put on 18 pounds. LOL Quote
Super User 5bass Posted January 21, 2010 Super User Posted January 21, 2010 I have been on super high doses of steroids for the past 4 months, Tin's a juicer! Quote
Super User Tin Posted January 21, 2010 Super User Posted January 21, 2010 New meds are coming in asap. Getting off them just in time for the start of spring training. He got by with his strength and power. Without that he is nothing special in the UFC imo. Quote
-nick- Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Wow, another Mir/Lesnar fight? Yeah, that'll get people to buy a PPV!The only reason Mir won the first fight was Lesnar's lack of skill. Mir was getting killed in the first fight and got his *** beat in the second. A third would be more of the same. Who else is going to fight Lesnar? Carwin and Mir are really the only contenders that have a chance at beating him unless there are some that aren't as popular yet that I don't know about. I didn't even know who Carwin was until he was set up to fight Lesnar. But really who else in the UFC H/W is going to challenge Brock? Quote
Super User burleytog Posted January 22, 2010 Super User Posted January 22, 2010 Lesnar's time in the WWE is why I watch UFC. No kidding?? I would have never guessed. Lesnar's foray into MMA has brought more than a few new viewers to UFC. That can't be a bad thing. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted January 22, 2010 Super User Posted January 22, 2010 theres been countless times that the bigger more power foe has lost to the smaller guy in mma...but a big power man that can move quick & coupled with real skills...is a hard man to beat in a fight... He can wrestle, no doubt. He's big, fast and strong, I'll give him that. I know he's learning jiu-jitsu now but he's nowhere close to the real BJJ skills of Mir. He's getting by right now with the wrestling, size, strength and speed. Yeah, he followed the gameplan in the last Mir fight to the letter because he knew that if Mir had his hands free and could move at all, he'd be in danger of getting submitted. Hopefully when they meet again Mir will have a better gameplan than Brock does. I know Mir can beat him again. Quote
Eternal Angler Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 What I monster, definitely one of the fastest big guys I've seen. Quote
-nick- Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 ****** or not he can fight & deserves to be in the cage...and has proven that by beating 2 ex heavyweight champs in his first 5 fights... The 2 ex heavyweights he beat at the time weren't what they should have been. Mir wasn't what he is now, and Couture I feel like is past his prime. Quote
-nick- Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 i understand what your saying nick...but mir at that time of the 2nd match, after beating nog...did say he was in the best shape, greatly improved striking & focused blah blah...the same thing others were saying about mir...that he was the new mir...until he got donkey kong'd by the vanilla gorilla... couture sure, he's older and not exactly his former self...but lets not make extreme excuses...because couture can still fight at a high level & did have the HW belt...hes kinda like a favre...and with his vast knowledge and skill, on paper he still should of beat brock...but brock actually beat him on his feet striking and finished with some gnp...still impressive for brocks 3rd UFC bout... mir even if more improved now...by the time they fight again...brock will also be that much more improved...which brock has shown great improvement every outing...so its kinda relative in a sense & somewhat of a wash as well... brock being the sponge that he is and a wrestler learning jits...which is a very natural transition for wrestlers...that hes been training now for 3 years i believe...it is gonna be tough to catch brock slipping like the first time...i've watch some of his jits training vids pre mir II...and hes gettin on with it very well... brock is a beast, extremely driven athlete and has the natural skill & aptitude to be a legitimate force for some years to come... That was all hype. They will say anything to get people to order the fight. He's in a lot better shape now than he was for the second fight. I'm not saying he's easily going to be able to take Lesnar out, but he has A LOT better shot than he did before. I knew when he was facing Mir that Mir was probably going to lose. Lesnar is going to have a really hard time taking Mir out on the next fight. Quote
