Super User Tin Posted January 19, 2010 Super User Posted January 19, 2010 I just started and sad to say I like it more than the casinos. :-/ Quote
TrippyJai Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I used to play quite a bit a year or 2 ago, but not so much anymore. The games are a lot tougher and poker isn't as fun as it used to be for me. I will play occasionally when I am bored, but pretty much it. I prefer live games now because it's just more fun when you can interact with people or friends if it's a home game. Nothing wrong with liking online games. Quote
RobbyZ5001 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I play quite a bit and currently and have played 3 years prior online. I have played on every site available and some that are not available anymore. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted January 20, 2010 Super User Posted January 20, 2010 Online poker is a whole lot safer than real life poker. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted January 20, 2010 Super User Posted January 20, 2010 Been playing on PS for about 8 years. I don't play with the funny money, or free. Like to play for keeps. Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 You can get in many more hands per hour, plus you don't have the expense of gas or time to and from the casino. Of course, if you're playing big no limit games, you don't have the additional physical tells, but there are other ones. I go to Foxwood's every couple of weeks as a mini-vacation from life, but don't play much online anymore. The games are much, much tougher than they were a few years ago and I have other things to do nowadays, unfortunately. Quote
whoopbazz Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I used to play a little...my ex wife put us in "rough shape" with her addiction to it. My advice to you is becareful and mind how much you spend. Back when I played you needed to be wary of "boiler rooms". Which are tables that one player plays multiple or all of the hands but yours. Sometimes buddies will play together and talk on the phone or in chatrooms about what they have. It's a big set up/rip off. Quote

If it were as easy as it was 5 years ago, and I had the money I do now (not all that much mind you) I could make out pretty good. I think... I hope... Well... Maybe. Quote
Super User Tin Posted January 22, 2010 Author Super User Posted January 22, 2010 I agree about the tough play. You can't even try bluffing because most of the people just don't care and it is to the point were I won't even play decent suited connectors anymore. Quote
Korea_Bassin Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 I'm not much of a poker player myself, although I do mess around on this (free) site occasionally: http://www.centpoker.com/ But I will play some blackjack if the opportunity offers itself and will lay a few bucks on some sports sometimes. Another (free) site here: http://www.centsports.com/?opcode=180209 Quote
Pitchinkid Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 yes. I dont play for real money online anymore. Id rather be at the casino for that. Plus its just said when you sit at home and get drunk and play poker. At least at the casinos im amusment for someone else. Im not good by any means, and the cold beer make me even worse. But i have a good time. Quote
