Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 20, 2010 Super User Posted January 20, 2010 I've only told my mom and dad about this, but I guess it's time to spill it. Last year at the KY lake roadtrip, I left out at around 1am. By about 2am I was driving along a real secluded road and off to my left I saw what looked to be a black box barely moving. It had a dull light on each corner. I was the only car on the road and at first I just figured it to be a plane or something but it looked real low and it seemed to just be hovering. I started to get a little freaked out so I gave my mom a holler to tell her. I was explaining it to her and looking at it as it barely moved out in front of me. After I hung up with her I looked down for a second to put my phone in the cup holder and when I looked back up, it was gone. I had goosebumps the whole trip home. Crazy stuff Easy. That was the military monitoring your use of the "furry jacket." They deemed that you were too attached to it and decided to send you a message... Bet you haven't worn it since, right? Quote
SlateTundra Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 back in the late 90's my sister and I owned a bar. Weekends my folks would help me out, dad would help bartend and mom would help with the cash register. Sometimes I'd end up spending the night at my folks place, since I'd usually pick them up on my way in. This particular night I saw something that still puzzles me. That night we stopped at Denny's for some breakfast before heading home. My folks' home is situated in a ranch community, so there arent too many lights. The stars are as bright as can be. I remember parking, dad walking in and mom and I trailing behind. At that point I remember something catching my eye in the sky. There were no lights, it was flying very low, and the only noise it made was the air it pushed as it flew by. The shape wasnt round, more like a triangle with soft edges. It looked to be the size of a medium jet, Like a Gulfstream IV. Not too big, but at the same time not too small. It was also going quite slow, too slow actually. It passed directly over us, the house, and continued heading west towards the ocean. I remember mom and I just standing there, staring at it, until it wasnt visable anymore. I will never forget how it literally made no noise. And no, I wasnt drinking that night. I never did on nights that I worked at the bar. Just recently...it was a clear and sunny day...a little after 12 PM. I was in my truck and pulling up to an intersection. Something in the sky to my left caught my eye. It was extremely bright and at first I thought it was a plane with the sun reflecting off of it. Came to a stop and I sat there looking at it and it looked nothing like a plane. It was basically a sphere - brightly lit with a soft glowing edge. It hovered in the sky for a moment and then it slowly descended...moved right...then up...basically a making a "U." The very moment it started to dip...its brightness slowly started to dim...slowly fading to the point where I can still see through it and still make out its edge. Movement by the object was smooth and constant. By the time it finished its "U" maneuver...it faded out and I couldn't see it anymore. Nothing freaky, but a strange sighting. Quote

farmpond1 Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I was fishing on the Kankakee River with a buddy this past summer. I was standing on a steep bank when I heard something crashing through the brush a short distance away. The ruckus grew louder/closer and I started to panic, thinking I was about to be attacked by some fierce creature, when a huge beaver busted through the edge and splashed loudly into the water only a few yards from me. Later I told my friend of the event and asked him if he'd ever been attacked by a beaver before. He replied that he'd nearly been suffocated by one and did that count? ;D I laugh everytime I think about it. ;D Quote
Sfritr Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 You guys are correct, Huge Beavers are kinda scary : I apologize to everyone but somebody had to say it...... Quote
0119 Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 About a year ago I was fishin' from the bank along a saltwater pond on State Preserve land. It was coming into dusk and I started to hear a moaning like yodel. Ive heard bobcats make their mating crys and all kinds of coyote yelps but this just seemed to come from something much bigger. It was across the pond deep in a mangrove salt flat and the wind carried the sound over to me. Gave me the creeps. About 6 months ago I was reading about local folk lore and learned that an island named Cayo Pelau, directly behind the flat was known by pioneers to be the home of the skunk ape. Quote

Super User burleytog Posted January 22, 2010 Super User Posted January 22, 2010 I had a dream that a 6' rabbit broke into my huntin' shack once. Does that count? What herbs contributed to that dream? Quote

What herbs contributed to that dream? I would have felt better if that were the case, as it is I don't share that story very often. Quote
1inStripes Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 I sure would like to come across a six foot rabbit while having my beagles out on a hunt. I might need a bigger gun though. Quote
