Super User senile1 Posted January 12, 2010 Super User Posted January 12, 2010 I read the thread, "Sick of Freezing Weather," and I thought that some of you, especially those in our northern tier of states, might have some wicked weather pictures to post. At my house on the northern side of the Kansas City metro area, we have had about 22 inches of snow since December 24th. Below are some pictures of my Winter Wonderland. Until this week we've had sub-zero lows with highs barely reaching zero to ten. This week temperatures are reaching the 30s and possibly even 40. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 12, 2010 Super User Posted January 12, 2010 I think we got 24" or so last week, LOL. Watch out for ice damming on the shorter soffets. Quote

Super User J Francho Posted January 12, 2010 Super User Posted January 12, 2010 I have a section on my front porch that loves to dam up, and eat the gutter for lunch. Absolute PITA. Its not as bad with the new roof, but its still there. If it gets more than 8", I sprinkle a little ice melter up there on a sunny day. Not the ideal solution, but whatever bad things the ice melter does is certainly not worse than my gutter laying on the ground in spring, water in my basement, and a leaking roof, LOL. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted January 13, 2010 Super User Posted January 13, 2010 how come the grass is white? Quote
fish-fighting-illini Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 So I'm guessing you haven't had much of a chance to try out the Symetre? How much snow do you guys typically get? What's normal for temps. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted January 13, 2010 Author Super User Posted January 13, 2010 We get big snows now and then and we always have periods of time where the temperatures are below zero, but we don't normally have this much snow and temperatures this low for a long period of time. The last couple of days have been the first days we have seen 30 degrees since around Christmas. Actually, 20 degree temps feel like a heat wave. Quote
