BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted January 9, 2009 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted January 9, 2009 I'm just disgusted the Sox changed their logo from the "B".... Not cool But Tampa was a fluke and the Yanks money will get them no where but 15-day disabled list frustration so GO SOX! I don't think that is entirely accurate. I think this year will be a repeat AL east championship. You guys did sign Rocco. I hope he does well.
Jake. Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Maybe the Braves could actually compete this year if they assemble something resembling a pitching staff. :
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted January 13, 2009 Super User Posted January 13, 2009 What do you think of the new patch on the unis Muddy? http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/Mets-pizza-patch-the-laughingstock-of-baseball-?urn=mlb,133840
Super User burleytog Posted January 13, 2009 Author Super User Posted January 13, 2009 Henderson and Rice selected for the HOF yesterday. Can't argue with Henderson, but Rice is still a maybe to me. If Rice is HOF material, then Santo should have been a lock. >

Might as well just put Mr Hanky on there. ;D
Daniel A. Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 ...but Rice is still a maybe to me. I don't think he's even a "maybe". He shouldn't have gotten in. Sympathy vote, anyone?
Super User burleytog Posted January 14, 2009 Author Super User Posted January 14, 2009 Could be worse. They should rename the HOF to the Yankees Retirement Home.
Super User Muddy Posted January 14, 2009 Super User Posted January 14, 2009 I care more about how they play rather than how they look, who cares? Rice does not belong in the hall of fame, period,Burley is 100% correct Santos has better credentials and he could not get in.

Might as well just put Mr Hanky on there. ;D Which is fitting since its on a Mets uni. ;D As for the HOF, I just wish the Murph would get in. Never will, but I would like to see it. He was a class act and one of the top hitters in the 80s.
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted January 16, 2009 Super User Posted January 16, 2009 Go .... Royals?? OK, I have made my contribution to the baseball post for the year. I will come back when I have something to talk about. So see ya next year for my annual post. ;D
Dean Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Well, the Red Sox will win the AL East this year. The Yankees don't understand you can't pay players an outrageous amount of cash and think you can just buy championships. The Yankees are lucky if they win third in the AL East this year. Yut I said it, 3rd. Tampa Bay is up and coming, and Boston just knows how to win.
Super User Hookemdown. Posted January 17, 2009 Super User Posted January 17, 2009 Sox are still a few moves away from even thinking about winning the series this year.

Super User Tin Posted January 17, 2009 Super User Posted January 17, 2009 Sox are still a few moves away from even thinking about winning the series this year. Respectfully disagree good sir.... They have the team now, and had it last year. INJURIES Even though Rocco can't play everyday because of his illness he is one of their better free-agent pickups in the last couple seasons...
KevO Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 It's time for the only real baseball team in NY to shine. GO YANKEES!
Super User Muddy Posted January 18, 2009 Super User Posted January 18, 2009 Yes the AL East basement could use some light
Super User Hookemdown. Posted January 18, 2009 Super User Posted January 18, 2009 Tin, I hope you're right. We were rattled with injuries last year. I hope Papi turns back into his old self. Do we even know who's going to be playing catcher next year?

Daniel A. Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 We should know by tomorrow if Tek is coming back. I think it's a no-brainer for him to take the deal. I don't think the market is there for him...but no one knows what Boras has up his sleeve. :
