1inStripes Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Please at least win one against the Phils for crying out loud. Hotlanta's needs some more help.
srv1990 Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Cardinals sign John Smoltz... At $100k for this year, if he has anything at all left, it's a great signing. If he doesn't, nothing lost but a little pocket change.
srv1990 Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 If there's a better starting pitcher in all of baseball right now than Chris Carpenter, I don't know who it is. Wow!
Super User CWB Posted August 25, 2009 Super User Posted August 25, 2009 Run support helps. How would you like to go 7 innings, give up 3 hits, one unearned run, and lose. P.U.
llPa1nll Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 20 games over .500, 9 games up... and in the National League... :-/ :-X :-/
srv1990 Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 We bow down to the almighty American League... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Super User Tin Posted September 4, 2009 Super User Posted September 4, 2009 20 games over .500, 9 games up... and in the National League... :-/ :-X :-/ There is a reason why Smoltz was so good there... ;D

Goes back to NL and first game out he pitches a gem, go figure. While last game with Boston he got shelled in NY. : : :

I don't know how many times I've seen them go out and get a pitcher left for dead late in the season who becomes instrumental in their late season run.

Dave Duncan is amazing at restoring pitchers and bringing out what pitchers have always had too. somethen great from a guy that never pitched
llPa1nll Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Ahhh huh, Dice K looked good in his first start back against the Angels. 6 shutout innings, about time.
Super User Tin Posted September 17, 2009 Super User Posted September 17, 2009 With Becket, Bucholtz, Dice-K, and Lester firing on all cylanders they could be very very tough to be beat in October.

1inStripes Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Is it 2010 yet? Lets plan a road trip. Opening Day in ATL. Cubs vs. Braves 4/5.
CJ Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Looks like the playoffs are starting to get lined up! Right now I would like us to have a moment of silence for the Chicago Cubs...........................that's about "moment " enough!
Super User senile1 Posted September 30, 2009 Super User Posted September 30, 2009 I hope the Cardinals hit their stride soon. They are stumbling into the playoffs. They're not putting any runs on the board and the pitching has been sub-par. It's time to start getting hot!
Super User Tin Posted October 1, 2009 Super User Posted October 1, 2009 I have tickets for the Sox game tonight!!!!! Hopefully Lester is healthy after that shot he took...
Super User senile1 Posted October 8, 2009 Super User Posted October 8, 2009 Ouch! Carpenter picked the wrong night to have a bad game. The Cards need to win tonight with Wainwright.

Super User Gone_Phishin Posted November 7, 2009 Super User Posted November 7, 2009 Well, the Crew traded JJ Hardy to the Twinkies for CF'r Gomez. At first, I was ticked. The more I think about it, it makes sense. Gomez will save the Crew at least 10 mil on Mike Cameron, and about 7 Mil on Hardy. Doug Melvin has went on record saying he wants two SP's this offseason. There's almost 20 mil saved for such a purpose. With the main trade chip, Hardy, already gone, it appears the Crew will not trade for their pitchers, but rather sign a few free agents. This excites me, as this is not an often occurrence on a small market team. On the other hand, Matt Gamel and Corey Hart could be trade chips. Heck, I've even heard the Brewers may be in the mix for Lackey. I suspect they will also target either Washburn, Bedard, and even Mark Mulder.

They should look back at what happened to the Cards and approach very, very cautiously.
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted November 13, 2009 Super User Posted November 13, 2009 It would be a low risk, high rewards kind of thing.
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted November 26, 2009 Super User Posted November 26, 2009 Hey CJ, I believe we have some unfinished business. Going into this season you owed one crank for the Crew taking the season series over the Cards. We went double-or-nothing this season, and by my math, the season series ended in a tie. Soooo, I guess that'll be one crank please. I'll let you know what kind later. Maybe a DT, a Little John MD, or some type of Shad Rap.
