Daniel A. Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 And Bradley learns to control his anger. He's off to a great start...just one ejection, right? I do think the third called strike was a ball, though.
Super User burleytog Posted April 18, 2009 Author Super User Posted April 18, 2009 Boy, I love the new Yankee Stadium. 22-4? ;D
Daniel A. Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Just wait until it warms up. I wonder if any team will score 30 in the new stadium. How come the Yankees, with all of their power, aren't hitting as many home runs?? :-?
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted April 19, 2009 Super User Posted April 19, 2009 Off topic here, but I have to give credit where credit is due: Burley, by far your best name/avatar yet. Very funny.
Super User burleytog Posted April 22, 2009 Author Super User Posted April 22, 2009 d**n I love listening to Pat and Ron.
Super User burleytog Posted April 23, 2009 Author Super User Posted April 23, 2009 I still can't believe the Reds hired Dusty Baker. ;D
Daniel A. Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 YOOOOOOOUUUUK!!! 8-) Great comeback win for the Sox. That's eight W's in a row.
CJ Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Just wanted to tell muddy and Burley: HA HA!!! Sincerely, CJ
CJ Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 This is gonna be a Cardinals year! All the signs of a championship team are there! I know it's early but man, the Redbirds are deep.
Super User burleytog Posted April 27, 2009 Author Super User Posted April 27, 2009 One series does not a season make. Or did you forget last weekend's series? :
srv1990 Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 One series does not a season make. Or did you forget last weekend's series? : One series certainly doesn't make a season... but 13-6 is a pretty good start, especially for a team the "experts" gave no chance to do anything, again. It's no surprise to us, with a manager that everyone loves to hate who routinely gets more out of his players than anyone in baseball.
Super User senile1 Posted April 27, 2009 Super User Posted April 27, 2009 This is gonna be a Cardinals year! All the signs of a championship team are there! I know it's early but man, the Redbirds are deep. I'm a big Cardinal fan but, for me, I think the jury is still out on this one. We've had to use our bullpen a great deal and they're not always going to be able to carry us for three or four innings. I hope you're right though. Pujols is looking as good as ever.
CJ Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Wellemeyer is our weekest link right now. Yeah, it's early but the chemistry is there. When you get production from young players like Thurston and Barden then your big guys are tearing it up, it's a good sign. I think our starting pitching has been doing a great job. We get Carp back in good shape and it's gonna be lights out! THE CUBS ARE DEAD!!!
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted April 28, 2009 Super User Posted April 28, 2009 Speaking of the cards...I believe someone owes me a crankbait from last year's wager....... ;D
CJ Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Yup, I do. Sorry I had a life changing event at that time last year. Send me a PM with address and I'll make it right. Thanks, CJ THE CUBS ARE STILL DEAD!!!
Uncle Leo Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Yup, I do. Sorry I had a life changing event at that time last year. Send me a PM with address and I'll make it right. Thanks, CJ THE CUBS ARE STILL DEAD!!! Good year to be a Cards fan heh CJ. Thank goodness I am a White Sox fan. Oh and Burley that Cubs cap still looks like a Reds cap to me.
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted April 29, 2009 Super User Posted April 29, 2009 No prob CJ. If you want to make things interesting, I'll go double or nuthin'. I can't think of any good guidelines right now, maybe the Crew vs the Cards for the season?

Super User Gone_Phishin Posted April 30, 2009 Super User Posted April 30, 2009 Deal. Rotating closers is going to kill the Cards. Though I must admit, it's good to have another Chi-town hater on the board. Here's to 102 years. ;D
Super User burleytog Posted April 30, 2009 Author Super User Posted April 30, 2009 THE CUBS ARE DEAD!!! That's what they said at the break in 07. I wonder how that season turned out? Lou's teams start slow and finish well. I'm not worried.
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted April 30, 2009 Super User Posted April 30, 2009 Finish the regular season well, but that's as far as that one goes. ;D Heck, even Milwaukee one a post-season game last year...and that was against the champs.
Super User burleytog Posted April 30, 2009 Author Super User Posted April 30, 2009 If Yost did one good thing last season, it was riding CC as hard as he did. Can you say Carl Pavano v2.0? ;D

I need a second closer baaad on my fantasy team, as the Huston Street experiment didn't quite work out. Franklin was a free agent for weeks until someone else picked him up...I'm still kicking myself.
