A buddy of mine took me out on my first ever coyote hunt.  We went driving around and saw a yote run into a patch of standing corn.  He dropped me off about 500 yards from the patch and I started quietly walking.  Well I got to about 200 or so yards away and he takes off!  I raise up and put one in him about 250 or so yards off with my first shot!  I got him in the back legs as he started biting at them, I calmed myself down and took a knee and put one more in him to finish him off.  I was soooo stoked up!  My buddy said this is one of the biggest ones he has seen, saying it was about 40-45lbs.

Good Job!!!  I have to shoot them out of my yard to keep them from eating my dog and cat.

Where in IL are you?  I live 20 miles N of I-64 and we don't have a flake of snow on the ground.

I am in Champaign, Looks like you are about 2.5 hours away or so...  I cant believe you dont have any snow on the ground there...  We only got about 4 inches or so here, but it was enough to get the dogs out looking for food...

I killed my first coyote back in November while deer hunting on national forrest. But I think that one may eat the one I killed. It only weighed about 30 lbs.

I am already setup for that, I went out and bought a Johnny Stewart Predator two caller on Sunday.  It works great for the price (40bucks) but its not as loud as some that I have heard so I am going to go to radio shack and buy a mini amp and a PA speaker to get some extra volume out of it.

i'd turn that thing into a coat! nice shot. 250 yard moving target first shot? you'd make a d**n fine green beret sniper.

Yeah.. maybe Navy Seal material there...send him over to Somolia to snipe some pirates.
