bwell Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 A buddy of mine took me out on my first ever coyote hunt. We went driving around and saw a yote run into a patch of standing corn. He dropped me off about 500 yards from the patch and I started quietly walking. Well I got to about 200 or so yards away and he takes off! I raise up and put one in him about 250 or so yards off with my first shot! I got him in the back legs as he started biting at them, I calmed myself down and took a knee and put one more in him to finish him off. I was soooo stoked up! My buddy said this is one of the biggest ones he has seen, saying it was about 40-45lbs. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted January 4, 2010 Super User Posted January 4, 2010 I never had coyote. How do they taste? Quote

I cant believe you dont have any snow on the ground there... We only got about 4 inches or so here, but it was enough to get the dogs out looking for food... Quote

VABassin'14 Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I killed my first coyote back in November while deer hunting on national forrest. But I think that one may eat the one I killed. It only weighed about 30 lbs. Quote
Copen1822 Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Nice yote. You should try your hand at calling them in. Almost as addictive as bass fishing!! Quote
bwell Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 I am already setup for that, I went out and bought a Johnny Stewart Predator two caller on Sunday. It works great for the price (40bucks) but its not as loud as some that I have heard so I am going to go to radio shack and buy a mini amp and a PA speaker to get some extra volume out of it. Quote
brushhoggin Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 i'd turn that thing into a coat! nice shot. 250 yard moving target first shot? you'd make a d**n fine green beret sniper. Quote
