Everything is being done to address the emergency. We already have more than 1/10" of snow on the ground and could get another 1/2" later today! ;D ;D ;D ;D Quote

Do not know whether to laugh or cry. Quote

Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted January 7, 2010 Super User Posted January 7, 2010 My car was completely frosted over this morning. It was 33-35 out and I have no heat either. I was scraping my friggan windows with a plastic spatula as we have no need for ice scrapers here. Was the first thing I thought of ;D Poor me, right However when you live here and it gets cold it feels twice as cold. 40 degrees feels like 15 or 20 Quote

moby bass Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 We've had about a half inch. Schools are closed, and they have already closed them for tomorrow. You're kidding right? I'm with bassnleo. We have about 12 inches on the ground, that's nothing. When it snows real hard and the plows can't keep up, I like to take the Jeep out for a drive and have some fun. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted January 9, 2010 Super User Posted January 9, 2010 we got like 1 or two (probably 1.5) inches of snow and schools were closed...... Quote
bassnleo Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 We only got about 5 inches since last evening. What I do hate the most.........I'm working nights now and I spent more time out of the car than I did in. I can handle car crashes and weather related stuff, BUT, nooo......we deal with some real winners in the snowstorms. My partner sees a guy run when he sees the cruiser, he bails out and chases the guy down, catches him when he tries to hide behind a bush. He tells us he ran because he's drunk and under age plus he has "a little weed" in his backpack. We get him back to the station and holy crap batman! He has 1/2 a pound, LOL, a little weed . Then, at 3:30 AM some guy flags me down. Someone just set his car on fire and he saw them run away. Well DUH, there is fresh snow. Me and the K-9 handler track 2 suspects for 3/4 of mile and find them hiding under a bank drive thru canopy. They ask how we knew where they were??? Ah, DUH, new snow? Get that done........get a call at 5:55 AM. An elderly lady is going around in an apartment complex banging on doors looking for her 9 year old son. I find her shivering and obviously dilusional (actually kind of sad) and probably in stage 1 hypothermia. Her caretaker just up and left her! Her sons are all in their 50's. Stay inside people! ;D Quote
