Super User 5bass Posted January 7, 2010 Super User Posted January 7, 2010 Is anybody surprised that Mayweather ducked Pacquiao? Mayweather & Co. demanding Olympic style drug testing was just a big smokescreen to get out of the fight. It's a real shame too. I was really hoping to see Pacquiao pound on him. Quote
Daniel My Brother Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I still think it's going to happen. Too much money on the table to walk away. Typical boxing B.S. Quote
bmadd Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I dunno. I'm kind of with 5BL. He either wants out all together or he wants more time to train. After spending all that time dancing I was a little surprised to see him wanting to jump in the ring that quick to fight Pacquiao. I also don't see why Pacquiao is so against the testing either though. Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted January 7, 2010 Super User Posted January 7, 2010 The fight won't happen. Mayweather would get pounded by Pacquaio. In the end, I hope I am wrong and this fight happens. Quote
Super User Marty Posted January 8, 2010 Super User Posted January 8, 2010 $200 million reasons it will happen. Quote
Fishing Doug Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 The fight won't happen. Mayweather would get pounded by Pacquaio. In the end, I hope I am wrong and this fight happens. Agreed. I think Mayweather knows he would get KNFO but I am still surprised he is passing up this payday. Floyd "Money" Mayweather loves his money. You gotta think the loser of this fight would be guaranteed north of $20 mil.... Quote
Super User 5bass Posted January 8, 2010 Author Super User Posted January 8, 2010 I also don't see why Pacquiao is so against the testing either though. From what I have read and heard, Pacquiao gets weak and nauseated after he gives blood and he's not a big needle fan to begin with. He surely doesnt want to step in the ring feeling sick and weak in the biggest fight of his life. Pacquiao has agreed to other testing and even blood testing right after the fight is over, just not right before.....but that wasnt good enough for Mayweather. Translation: Mayweather is scared. I had never seen anything about that. Seems all ESPN shows is that Mayweather wants testing and Pacquiao refuses to. I definitely think Mayweather knows he'll get beat if they fight anytime this spring. Probably ever. Quote

Pac said he'll do a blood test immediately after the fight was done, but Mayweather refused. They wanted him to do it before the fight. What a joke they are. This ain't going to happen because Mayweather doesn't want to lose. It's simple as that. I heard the fight was canceled as well. Not 100% sure. Boxing sucks, really, when have they given us the fight that we TRULY want to see? Quote
NewAngler Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 I truly wanted to see that De la Hoya- Floyd fight. Floyd is known for being undefeated. He's aslo know for taking on lesser opponets so he can ensure his victory. This fight wont happen. FLoyd ia Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted January 8, 2010 Super User Posted January 8, 2010 Pacman agreed to all testing 30 days prior and immediatley after the fight. Pacman said no to the blood being taken 24 hr prior to fight. Seems reasonable. Pacman agreed to whizz quiz anytime, just no to blood 24 hrs prior. Pacman has also retained american lawyers to file defamation suit against FM camp. Quote
bmadd Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Looks like Pacquiao will fight on March 13. Joshua Clottey. Quote
RyneB Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Are you guys really serious saying Manny would knock Floyd out? Floyd is the best defensive boxer to ever wear a pair of boxing gloves. Floyd would just sit back and pick Manny apart with superior boxing skills. Now, im not saying Floyd is unbeatable, but until somebody beats Floyd (or even knocks him down). Hes the best pound for pound fighter in the world, if not of all time. Hes not going to wow you with knock outs, but his boxing and defensive skills are unmatched. But, anybody can be beat on any given night. Quote

Agree he's talented and all, but he is scared of Pac because Pac is is his biggest threat to beat him. He's not a true warrior, just some guy who wants to pick his fights, stay undefeated and make less money, but EASIER money. It's all mind games right now, sure, this fight can generate a big chunk of money, but Floyd can have a couple of easier fights and make the same amount and still stay undefeated and top dog. If he loses to Pac, it can all change. Quote
RyneB Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 he fought Oscar, Zab Judah, Diego Corrales, Juan manuel marquez, demarcus corley, and wanted Mosely forever but mosely wont fight him. It just seems that mannys the one ducking, last i checked all manny had to do was sign on the dotted line and it was going to happen. Plus, both sides wanted to push the fight back to land on Cinco De Mayo. Quote
