Super User Catt Posted January 5, 2010 Super User Posted January 5, 2010 (and why has nobody mentioned that Texas' D.C. (muschamp) was Saban's D.C. when he won the Natl Championship with LSU in 05' ? ) Nicholas Lou "Nick" Saban is the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide was LSU's head couch and a defensive genius. Mark Bo Pelini head football coach at the University of NebraskaLincoln. He had previously been defensive coordinator for the LSU Tigers. William Larry Muschamp is defensive coordinator and linebackers coach of the University Texas was a assistant defensive coordinator. Bo gave Nick the blueprint on how to beat Texas Quote

GLADES Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Nick Satan will find a way to win. Texas will not be able to move the ball against Bama's defense. Alabama wins the Title. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted January 5, 2010 Super User Posted January 5, 2010 It's Saban's defense. At Alabama he is the brain behind the defense. Smart just his defense assistant.Ā Ā Various of articles said this. Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 5, 2010 Super User Posted January 5, 2010 I don't know Brent I thought Bo's defense was better; either way Colt McCoy is in major trouble & Bama offense is slightly better than the Huskers. Quote
1inStripes Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 TEXAS FIGHT TEXAS FIGHT TEXAS FIGHT GO TEXAS!!!!!!! FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!!!!!!! Are you freestyling Texas fight? Bama doesnt try to blow anyone out.Ā They are a defensive juggernaut and a ball control, ground the ball into submission team.Ā 24-13 Bama. Quote
bigtimfish Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 History repeats itself. Remember the unbeatable USC trojans in 05? As long as UT stays agressive and let's Colt run the horns will win again. Quote

Super User Matt Fly Posted January 6, 2010 Super User Posted January 6, 2010 History repeats itself. 06 SEC 07 SEC 08 SEC 09 SEC True dat!Ā Ā Last time the Longhorns was in title game and was the underdog in the Rose Bowl, Texas won.Ā Thats history! Ā Ā Same deal Lucile, history does repeat its self.Ā Ā Texas will be 8-0-1 against the Tide after tomorrow night! Hookem Horns! Ā Ā Ā Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted January 6, 2010 Super User Posted January 6, 2010 I don't even think it's going to be a good game. Texas is good but nobody has come up with a match for the top SEC team in a long time. The SEC is just different. They seem to hit harder, run faster and have more experience in big games. The SEC is so full of great teams that they beat the crap out of each other all season and if anyone is left standing at the end they will win the National Championship. One day the Big 10 and Big 12 graduates who now commentate for ESPN will give the SEC the credit they are due....... Yea like that will ever happen.Ā : Quote
Super User Root beer Posted January 6, 2010 Super User Posted January 6, 2010 I wonder if that Haitian Voodoo witch made it to Pasadena yet. I got her trying get all the jinx and curse out of Alabama.Ā ;D Quote

As long as UT stays agressive and let's Colt run the horns will win again. The problem with that is, USC thought they was invincible, Alabama, if you read media transcript, they don't have that attitude. Quote

Rolando McClain suffered a stomach virus earlier this week and missed practice, but is reported to be feeling better and is expected to play. Which is good news. Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted January 6, 2010 Super User Posted January 6, 2010 Who should I root for? As an OU fan, I must root for Bama. As a "Big XII fan" I root for texas.Ā (side note:Ā conference fans? Really?Ā I am an OU fan.Ā I really don't understand the concept of conference fans.Ā I have a buddy that was a hardcore Arkansas/Houston Nutt fan.Ā Houston left, so my friend denounced the Razorbacks for going soft and getting an offensive minded head coach. But he's still an SEC fan, even though he doesn't like a single team.Ā I find that kindaĀ funny.) As an SEC fan hater, I root for texas.Ā Note that I sad "SEC fan hater" and not "SEC hater."Ā I can't hate on the SEC for being great.Ā But I am tired of "conference fans" (see above rant).Ā I'm tired of hearing Vandy, Kentucky, Miss State, etc fans chanting SEC SEC SEC. I think I'm going to root for Colt McCoy.Ā He is a GREAT leader, player, person, and quarterback.Ā I'd rather have him than Tebow any day.Ā And I feel he is somewhat underrated. So, let's go Colt! Daniel My Brother Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 ESPN paid 2 billion dollars over 15 years for the broadcast rights to SEC football. I'm not buying that they are biased toward the Big 10 or Big 12. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted January 7, 2010 Author Super User Posted January 7, 2010 To the fans everywhere that hate on the SEC, I invite you to attend a game, any game. Show up 3-4 hours early and then you will understand. Or do like some do, show up on the Tuesday before and then you will really understand. I had to drag my wife kicking and screaming to her first Bama game at Legion Field. By halftime she was into it, I had to drag her kicking and screaming away after the game. She has since forced me to several games that I planned to skip. All this from a woman that hated football and had never been to a game. It's a 10 hr. drive for me to the game and I always make a few. ROLL TIDE!!! 38-13 Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted January 7, 2010 Author Super User Posted January 7, 2010 I was not even thinking about the yelling, screaming, or drinking when I wrote that. It's just a feeling that is in the air that I have not found elsewhere. Once you feel it you know. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted January 7, 2010 Super User Posted January 7, 2010 When talking about the SEC and how the sports writers give them no credit my mind always goes back to the Georgia, Hawaii game a couple of years ago. According to the Sports Writers before the game, Hawaii was slated to win very easily. After all they were undefeated. Basically the game was over after the first series of downs. Hawaii players had never been hit that hard and they were on their heals from that point on. Then I look at the final two games of Clemson and Georgia Tech. Both teams had already made it into the ACC Championship and were ranked in the top 25 in the BCS. Both teams lost there final games to unranked SEC teams. I'm not saying I'm right and your wrong. This is just how I see it from my end. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted January 7, 2010 Super User Posted January 7, 2010 (and i'm sure there is an SEC stadium that holds 90k; just sayin' its the same all over...........the south... ;D ;D ;D ;D ) b 3 of the biggest 5 stadiums are in the Big 10. Penn State has tailgating and pregame shenanigans that can rival any school. It's not just a southern thing, but I do admit it is more common in the South. Quote

Super User Gatorbassman Posted January 7, 2010 Super User Posted January 7, 2010 That was Silly; and everyone sees how silly that was........ now. Cinderella vs. Bulldogs. Just a fairytale without a happy ending. b Exactly, but that is after the game.Ā It was before the game they didn't give Georgia the chance. This happens time and time again. So what I'm saying is "Why can't Sports Writers write unbiased, informative, intelligent reviews? Why can't the commentators call a game even remotely unbiased?" Go back and listen the LSU/OSU game with your eyes closed. Don't watch it and don't pay attention to the score. I bet by the end of the game you will think that OSU won the game. Quote
