I had her when I was in 8th grade when she was teaching at a different school. This just absolutely shocks me. Never would have thought I'd be reading about an old teacher robbing banks. Ya just never know these days I guess.... Quote
SDoolittle Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 That's crazy! Several years ago I read about a guy I went to high school with hijacking an armored car with millions of dollars in it! Small world! Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted December 31, 2009 Super User Posted December 31, 2009 I need to meet with her to find out more information. She'll stay on paid administrative leave until I finish that portion of the next step :-? She turned herself in, it's not like she was a suspect in the case. Quote
D4u2s0t Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 crazy!! Our receptionist at work asked me to bring in the local paper a few weeks back, turns out one of her husbands good friends (her husband taught for like 40 years, just retired) was charged with stealing almost 20,000 from a liquor store he worked at. From what I hear, he was a great teacher, won teacher of the year a few times, and was a big shocker. Shows that you never know! Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 31, 2009 Super User Posted December 31, 2009 Just because they are a teacher does not make place them on a higher platform. Robbery is a crime of passion so the lady must either have had some very tough financial times or has a screw loose. You don't rob banks. Too risky and the FBI gets involved. You rob 7-11s. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Quote
fathom Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 was watching a documentary on modern day serial killers a few years back...south carolina had just executed one of them for the murders of seven women...suspected of many, many more. to date, he is the only member of my high school graduation class to make the national news. BUCKEYEone Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 My mom is a 4th grade teacher and last year one of the 3rd grade teachers she works with was arrested (during the school day) for prostitution. She even used the school computer and email to check her ads on Craigslist! Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted December 31, 2009 Super User Posted December 31, 2009 I've always heard our teachers were very under paid. Quote

Super User Micro Posted December 31, 2009 Super User Posted December 31, 2009 Released on a $500 bail? $500? Isn't bank robbery a big-time federal offense? $500? :-? Quote
simplejoe Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Micro, This is probably a first time offense for her with no threat to society. Just goes to show you everyone's not perfect. Quote
Fisher of Men Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I've always heard our teachers were very under paid. Yes we are. In the case of Texas' teachers the pay scale looks good on the outside. Unfortunately, about 1/3 or more of my salary goes to family insurance, retirement, etc. Teaching is definitely a calling, not a ticket to financial paradise. Quote
lazeebum Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 When you say you had her, are you aware of what that can mean in Alabama? There was this one teacher ....................... Quote
christopherjake Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 http://www.unionleader.com/article.aspx?headline=Teacher+charged+in+two+bank+heists&articleId=6edd8f29-63ac-4c36-96f3-f49fb0c30807 Yep, my old 8th grade english teacher turned herself in today and was arrested for robbing two banks. OH-bass614 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 my seventh grade gym teacher was caught with child porn on his computer and apparently he had a ton. he had a thing for middle school boys Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted January 6, 2010 Author Posted January 6, 2010 So the count is now 3 banks, and after she robbed one of them she was spotted at Mohegan Sun Casino...Apparently someone had a bit of a gambling problem ;D Quote
Little Luey Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 is she hot? hot chicks robbing banks....yeah. next Quentin Tarantino flick there was a movie a few years back with some supermodels robbing banks and Queen Latifa and Corky Romano being the detectives. ;D Quote

Super User Alpster Posted January 8, 2010 Super User Posted January 8, 2010 Had a 2nd grade teacher about 45 years ago that stopped coming to school suddenly. It seems someone filled her hubcaps with marijuana on a vacation to Mexico and she ran into a little trouble at the border. LOL Ronnie Quote
