Super User Tin Posted December 17, 2009 Super User Posted December 17, 2009 lol... http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_ODD_TEACHER_HOOTERS?SITE=WJARTV&SECTION=ENTERTAINMENT&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT I don't see the big deal. The coaches would have the bus stop there after hockey games when I was in high school. : Quote
Super User Root beer Posted December 17, 2009 Super User Posted December 17, 2009 I don't see what the big deal is. Girls in my high school gym class wore clothes just like the hooter girls....short short, with tank top....... Quote
b.Lee Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 LOL at everyone's comments. But I agree, its all Politics Quote
brushhoggin Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 it all comes back to marketing the school.i've had school sponsored pool parties with bikinis everywhere, no trouble for that, then again i didnt complain 8-) Quote
Rebel Angler Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 haha that's awesome that they got to go to hooters, but it sucks for the teacher. I don't see what the big deal is, if it weren't for all those parents that b***h about every little thing jus cause they don't have anything better to do then schools would be much more care free. It's jus stupid. Quote
Sfritr Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Just another disgusting display from some bleeding heart democrats who is overly concerned with making sure everyone else is PC. Give me a break..... Almost as bad as the parent who is suing the school because her kid broke her ankle sliding into a base at a softball game and she sued saying it was the coaches fault for not teaching the kid how to slide correctly. SAD VERY SAD Quote
Sfritr Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I apologize.. i dont intend to start a political debate. For the record, I am not a Republican or a Democrat. Personally, I think they are all corrupt......... Quote
fish-fighting-illini Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Sorry to play the devil's advocate but it is not appropriate for a teacher to take HS kids to Hooters. In this age of the Mary Kay Letourneau type issues you are setting a school system up for a lawsuit. Somewhere exists a line where adults are adults and kids are kids. Kids need to be kids they have forever to be adults. I'm no prude, far from it to be exact and if I was the HS kid heck yes I'd have wanted to go. Adults need to lead by example and Hooters is not the example. A warning to the teacher should have sufficed. I'm sure this will be a classic case of all not agreeing so lets politely in advance agree to disagree and do so with class. just my .02 FFI AKA - Matt Crum Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted December 18, 2009 Super User Posted December 18, 2009 What's next, removing Victoria Secret from the mall. Removing manichans (sp) with overly endowed body parts from the stores. No more 2 piece bikini's in public? I suppose we should take away gymnastics from the Olympics. Those girls outfits are 10x more revealing than the Hooters girls outfits. Give me a freaking break. Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 18, 2009 Super User Posted December 18, 2009 Hooters is not a place for high school children who know nothing about reproduction or body parts. We have to protect the children. It is about the children. The happy, smiling children. I bet they change into and out of their uniforms in the dark so they don't see each other without any clothes on. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Quote
done Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 IMO, if a parent wants to take their kid(s) to Hooters, that is their judgment to make for their kids. A school however, should deliberately steer clear of these types of things. As a school official you would have to know this is one of those borderline things. You'd know you would get grief from folks which would interfere with education. So IMO they should have had the forethought to steer clear. I would be ticked if the school decided taking my kids there was a good idea. Yeah they have good food, but they are marketed for other things. Granted there are a lot of worse things out there. I have seen more provocative dress in my local BPS. Quote

Go to your local high school and check out the gym class. Guarantee a couple girls in there will be dressed revealing. Granted they might not be nicely filled out like a hooter girl, but nonetheless it still revealing.... When I was in weight training my Senior year, there was a sophomore girl in my class wearing a real small short...... Since we are all hypocrites, some parents will probably get real ticked off at school just because they are bored and want to start something. Oh yeah, did anyone else noticed the teacher that took them was a female? Quote

Other. Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 In track and field all of the girls run in their sport bras and super short shorts. Some even in spandex. Hooters is nothing compared to a track and field practice. Quote
Super User fishinfiend Posted December 19, 2009 Super User Posted December 19, 2009 For those of you that think it is no big deal to take students to Hooters, I would like for you to take a few moments to consider the following... Would you mind if your girl friend, wife, or daughter worked at Hooter's? Would you take your girl friend, wife, or mother to Hooter's? Would you take a first date to Hooter's? I love the wings at Hooter's but I would never take a woman there and I would never take my own children there. It is obvious that the experience in Hooter's is a sexually charged dining experience. It is fine for adults, but I cannot imagine a teacher taking students there to eat. As far as high school girls in skimpy attire, they are wearing clothing that is functional and appropriate for physical activities not for the enjoyment of others. Conversely, the women at Hooter's are dressed in such a way for the express purpose of sexual enticing and arousing the customers for finacial gain. Therefore, it is not fair to compare the two as the context differs so greatly. Moreover, one is a group of minors versus a group of adults. With that said, I will be picking up an order of 20 hot wings before tomorrow's nights game along with some Dos Equis. 8-) Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted December 19, 2009 Super User Posted December 19, 2009 Well, I'm sure EVERY girl working at Hooters is the daughter, girlfriend or wife on someone. Yes, I have taken my girlfriend/wife to Hooters. And yes, if my first date was paying the tab then I would take her to Hooters. Here was my experience at Nordstroms in our Mall today. My wife, our 2 yr old son and I were at the jewelry counter to by the wife a watch. The sales lady was not a day over 23 yrs old. She was wearing fish net stalkings, a mini skirt that was about 4 inches below her buttocks and a low cut sweater/top. I got a nasty looks from the wife every time I asked the sales lady to show me a different watch (about 30 times ;D) because it ALL hung out when she bent over. Hmmmm, perhaps I can sue Nordstroms for corrupting my son and getting me in trouble. Quote
