RobbyZ5001 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Well after numerous posts and a ton of advice, opinions, and suggestions I made a decision to purchase the Glock 23 with night sights. This handgun was my first gun purchase ever. For anyone of age who is thinking about purchasing a gun I suggest doing a lot of research on safety and shooting with experienced friends who will teach you the ropes. The photos are a bit blurry due to the quality of my camera. I am very happy with this purchase and love how it feels in my hand and how it shoots at the range. Quote
-HAWK- Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Very Nice, I own the GLOCK 21 and love it. You definitely made the right choice going with the Glock. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted December 8, 2009 Super User Posted December 8, 2009 Why is this in the Flea Market? Quote
RobbyZ5001 Posted December 8, 2009 Author Posted December 8, 2009 haha... I guess I wanted to keep the mods busy. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I'll give you $20 for it, and supply an FFL to ship it too. ;D Nice gun dude. Quote

Super User burleytog Posted December 8, 2009 Super User Posted December 8, 2009 You're fine as long as you don't browse a lot of gun forums. The 40 S&W Glocks are looked on with disdain due to a partially unsupported chamber. Quote
preach4bass Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Nice purchase! I've been looking at one similar for a while. Hope you never have to use it. Quote

Quote
Super User burleytog Posted December 8, 2009 Super User Posted December 8, 2009 I wouldn't shoot anything I didn't load myself. Especially not in a Glock. And if you didn't already know, never shoot unjacketed bullets in the Glocks. Quote
Bantam1 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Shoot new ammo through it only and you'll be fine. A couple of my friends have 23's and they are nice. Learn the trigger reset, practice alot, and you can accurately place the entire magazine in less than 1.5" @ 15 yards quickly. These seem to shoot better and tighter groups the faster you work the trigger. I'm a .45 guy but if I were to buy a .40 it would be that one Quote
Super User Micro Posted December 9, 2009 Super User Posted December 9, 2009 That gun will last you a lifetime with proper care. HurleyBurley's right, gun websites are rife with rumor-mongering, among which is that the .40s and .45s "kaboom" due to undersupported chambers. Nevertheless, the number of kabooms relative to the number of gun that have been sold are miniscule. And I've never seen proof any ever kaboomed with factory ammo. On top of that, all guns will blow with overcharged ammo and there are many pictures out there of HKs, S&Ws, and Rugers that have blown with overcharged ammo. I've fired hot Corbon ammo out of my Glock 21, 36, 30 and 21SF and none of the cases ever showed evidence of overpressure. You made a fine selection. One of the best .40s on the market. Quote
Aaron Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Nice gun man. I almost bought one of those myself a few weeks ago. However, I didn't want to add another caliber to the mix at the time( I shoot .45 and .357/.38) so I ended buying a 2 1/4" Ruger SP-101. I will end up getting one eventually though. Keep in mind that should you decide to do so you can get caliber conversions for that gun so you can shoot 9mm or .357 SIG out of it. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted December 10, 2009 Super User Posted December 10, 2009 Nice gun, I bought a Sig P226 in 40S&W, but I wish I would have bought the darn 9mm since ammo is so cheap, thinking of getting a Glock in 9mm to make going to the range a bit less expensive. Enjoy the gun, and don't take what people say about only taking ball ammo and blow up problems to heart its the exception not the rule. I would say stick to factory AMMO and don't shoot reloads, cause unless you did it yourself and knew what you were doing your taking a risk. Quote
simplejoe Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Rob, I'm glad to see you got a glock instead of the Hi-point. Much better gun Congrats. Quote
steezy Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 The glocks are nice weapons but it's .45 Sig for me. P245, it's ok to only have 7 rounds (chamber 1 & mag 6), when they produce big holes in the target you don't need as many. Quote
bocabasser Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 if you don't mind my asking, how much did you pay for it? Quote

The 40 S&W Glocks are looked on with disdain due to a partially unsupported chamber. That's funny... I remember hearing "rumors" like that 6 or 7 years ago. It's really a bunch of BS brought on by Glock haters. I'm also the proud owner of a third generation G23 with several thousand rounds through it and 0 KB's. : Quote
RobbyZ5001 Posted December 10, 2009 Author Posted December 10, 2009 if you don't mind my asking, how much did you pay for it? Glock 23 with night sights for $509 Quote
