Earliest Ever Snowfall Predicted For Houston Friday

Naturally I'm headed for Sam Rayburn Friday morning to fish Friday afternoon and Saturday. Hope I can get there and back. Houston is preping the freeways and expecting it to start around noon on Friday with accumulation. 80% chance up at the lake. At least I won't be worrying about pressure from other boats.

Yeah talk about global warming! Before all this came out about the scandal about global warming I said it was a bunch of bull. People just trying to get money off stupid crap. Have fun in the snow but hopefully it doesn't ruin your fishing!

I can't figure it out. They now are predicting 3-5" for us tommorrow. The boat is staying put.

supposed to snow in MISSISSIPPI tomorrow. yeah, mississippi. i'm gonna make a snoman that looks like al gore, take a picture and mail it to him as a christmas card saying "seasons greetings from the dirty south".

Good idea, our high for Friday is 38* and that is right after midnight tonight. They have been preparing the roads since about 2:00 today. Not sure how you prepare a highway that's 150' in the air though. Probably better to just close them up and tell everyone to stay off them, but there is always some idiot with a beer in one hand that's sure he knows better.

Ive never been to Texas and always thought you guys would be safe from snow ii give you credit for going fishing ,i had today off and i couldn't talk myself into going out shore fishing  the highs are around 36. this cold weather messes with my concentration .if you go out i wish you good luck.

Unless we get enough to cause road closures I'm going about 10:00 Friday morning. The only thing that may cause a problem is up and down the ramp. I have a 4X4 so I think I'll be ok.

Yeah it's supposed to snow here this weekend. It's a 90% chance, but they don't how much is expected. I'm supposed to go fishin this weekend too, but with the weather forecast it's not lookin good  :-/

Yeah, they're predicting a big snowfall here too on Friday.

I think they said it'll be the earliest snowfall "ever" in central Florida......or maybe they just said the first "ever"

Forecast for the Louisiana Gulf coast!

Snow, mainly before midnight. Low around 29. North wind between 5 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

I wish I was. they are still predicting 3-5" here with higher amounts in a few places.Even saying it will be thundering in places while snowing. Havn't seen or heard that in a while. Strange though, they are only predicting 1-3" in the east Texas area. Saturday is supposed to be clear and cold. Gonna give it a try. Have not fished during a snow fall in many years. Gonna be interesting. Hardest thing will be the ice buildup in the reel and on the guides. Anyone have any suggestions to counter act that?

Bass-N-Bucks has cancelled their tournament for Saturday due to the weather. That's a first.

I've fought it before, here's the best tip I have.

Pull the ottoman up to the best chair in the house and watch fishing shows on TV.

Many years ago I fished a tournament when it was 28 degrees and sleeting, we had to dip our rods in the water to get the ice out of the eyes to cast. The conditions were very close to these with the week prior having temps in the 60s with sunny skies.

We were throwing spinner baits and absolutely murdered them in the back of Polo Gaucho; one of the biggest 15 bass stringers I've ever weighted.

you guys are some tough fisherman .i need to travel more. I'm in Illinois and i always figured some of us in the Midwest would get snow before alot of you other guys ,yet we have had nothing .i guess i could try shore fishing in those temps, but that's because i could hop in the car when i get cold, but to be on a boat out in the water .wow ! it sounds painful.

Reel and line majic for the guides and levelwind works pretty good.  I love it!!  Y'all in Texas are all getting snow before we've had any up here.   

But it is 17 degrees right now.

Not surprised at all. I won a tournament years ago on the flat across the creek(Palo Gaucho) from Harborlight on Toledo. Just outside of the bridge. It had been warm the week before and it snowed on us all day. spinnerbaits and rattletraps, and they ate them like there was no tommorrow. They were stacked up in the 6-8' water 40 yards off the bank.

Boat is hooked up, we are loaded, and it has begun to snow. Was not supposed to start until around noon, but it has gotten off to an earlier start. Not quite cold enough for it to stick yet, but hopefully I can get the heck out of here before it does. Leaving at 10:00.

Catt, it's coming down and headed your way. Temp an hour ago was 39*, but it's now between 35-36*. should be there in a couple of hours. It started raining about 7:45, but by 8:00 it was all snow out here.

Trying to get the wife up and out the door, but she is dragging as usual. If it catches me out on the road will just have to leave the boat at my mother's home up in Nacogdoches.
