How many different colors of soft plastic worms do you carry with you?? Maybe 2 or 3 different ones, or more than 10??

I've recently been buying some and want to know how many are enough. I'm up to 7 different ones I think. Trying not to buy them just cause they look good in the store, I'm trying to make myself think about what kind of water clarity I'd fish them in. Some I've had for years but never fished much with them. I went to the lake recently and had a blast with them so now I'm fired up to get into some worm fishing. Here's the colors I have so far. Most of them are Zoom U-tales, but the black ones are Berkley Powerbait.

Motoroil

Junebug

Red Shad

Watermelonseed

Pumpkin/chartreuse

Natural blue

Black

I was thinking I need some kind of purple, such as tequila sunrise, or the candybug that Zoom makes.  And maybe a chartreuse??  Any others I might want??  White maybe??  I was even thinking of getting some white ones and mixing them with chartreuse to make a white/chartreuse, and maybe use some white ones to make a solid chartreuse instead of the clear chartreuse that Zoom makes.  Done that before with white in chartreuse, comes out bright solid chartreuse when done.

Night fishing (oversized worms):

Black

Black Grape

Dropshot/texas/shakey:

white/silver (prism shad, white, natural shad, etc)

pinkish purple ( margarita mutilator, etc)

smokey color  ( :-X ;D)

dark green (aarons magic, green weenie, etc)

oxblood

I only carry one variant of each type, dont think it really matters if you use aarons or green weenie. Color isnt horribly important.

It's more like types of colors for me. I carry three.

Translucent colors - Clear water

Opaque colors - Stained, muddy or deep water

Bright colors - Clear and deep water

Watermelon w/ blk flake or Watermelon Candy

Green Pumpkin w/ green flake

Warmouth

Bold Bluegill

All I need for any soft plastics.

Summer Craw

Watermelon Red

Watermelon Seed

Green Pumpkin

Red Shad

June Bug

Black Neon

Black and blue

That's the basic lineup.  Certain lures are bought in only one color that may not be on the above list.

LBH, have you seen the color line-up that Spike-It has? Getting close to the rainbow.

I limit my multi-color selection to two groups-colors that I can see for sight/bed fishing and all others. In actuality, none work any better than any other.

I would have to estimate I have no less than 30 different colors of soft plastics in my boat right now with 60-70 percent of them being some type of watermelon or pumpkin

I have more plastics in different styles and colors than I want to admit. The funny thing is that I only use about four different baits in black, white, watermelon & smoke.

Never been a fan of worms myself, so I only ever carried a single pack of 7.5" Culprits in Red Shad with me. I rarely ever slow down to fish a worm, and that one pack will catch fish about anywhere when needed. Do carry a couple other different plastics for flipping and skipping, and a pack of big black worms if I do any night fishing, but otherwise in most drop bait fishing sitations I'll go to a jig before I ever pick up the worm. Now that I've down-sized boats though, I'm trying to develop a little patience and a larger arsenal of baits.
