Super User Matt Fly Posted November 12, 2009 Super User Posted November 12, 2009 Taylor Swift is a cash cow, Entertainer of the year. Not my idea of country, but then again, Brooks and Dunn weren't everyones favorites either. Times get tough, I know what songs still mention, mama, trains, robbery, and those catchy catch phrases of country. LeAnn Rimes looked dead last night on a side note. She's had better days. Quote
Big Mike in Fl Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 "WELL, A FRIEND OF MINE NAMED STEVE GOODMAN WROTE THAT SONG AND HE TOLD ME IT WAS THE PERFECT COUNTRY & WESTERN SONG. I WROTE HIM BACK A LETTER AND I TOLD HIM IT WAS NOT THE PERFECT COUNTRY & WESTERN SONG BECAUSE HE HADN'T SAID ANYTHING AT ALL ABOUT MAMA, OR TRAINS, OR TRUCKS, OR PRISON, OR GETTIN' DRUNK." Now that was country music. ;D ;D ;D Quote

Super User Lund Explorer Posted November 12, 2009 Super User Posted November 12, 2009 I think the headlines this morning says everything you need to know about the state of country music.... Brad Paisley takes two, but T. Sizzle takes home top award. What? T. Sizzle? How long before she's on 8 Mile with Fifty Cent? Sorry, rant over for the day. It's not FIFTY. It's Fity or Fiddy ;D Hey! I'm too darn old to start talking Hip-Hop, Rap, or any of that other **** (rhymes with Rap but starts with a "C"). But when I see the first drive by shooting at a CW concert, I'll change my name to Lund Expizzle! ;D Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted November 12, 2009 Super User Posted November 12, 2009 Carrie Underwood is hawt. <--- period. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted November 13, 2009 Super User Posted November 13, 2009 To me one of the great things about this year's CMAs is that I was not forced to watch any performance by Rascal Flatulence. One of the great disappointments was that I was forced to watch performances by Taylor Swift. Quote
1inStripes Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 If you like old country I guess you are best represented by Jamie Johnson. He is doing a nice job, but I didn't need Kid Rock performing with him last night. I thought it was a good show overall. Quote
seyone Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 and Hank III is cool, I really liked him in superjoint ritual and of course when he sings his grand daddy's songs. superjoint is great, he also plays in a band called arson anthem with Phil . Quote
Ky_Lake_Dude Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I loved the duet with Kenny Chesney and Dave Mathews even though Chesney usually just ticks me off, I love that song. I absolutely love the old-timey sound of Jamey Johnson and he's my favorite artist at the moment. Quote
CanalStalkin Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Jamey Johnson's CD is just bad a**. Quote
