Sfritr Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Anybody see the highlights of the girl soccer player that basically beat the snot out of every player she came near. I laughed my A^$ off when she yanked the girl down from behind by her ponytail. Gotta like a girl with some Spunk....... Quote
Super User Dan: Posted November 7, 2009 Super User Posted November 7, 2009 spunk? I was thinking "b*#^h" I'm glad she got suspended indefinitely. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted November 7, 2009 Super User Posted November 7, 2009 Spunk?.......just a dirty player. Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted November 7, 2009 Super User Posted November 7, 2009 Just a dime a dozen person who things they are tough for taking cheap shots at other players. Has no place in any sport. Quote
Culln5 Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 That's just great.... What's next?.... Eye gouging at the bottom of a football pile?.... Bench clearing brawls on the baseball field?.... Sometimes sports and their competitiveness brings out the worst in people. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted November 7, 2009 Super User Posted November 7, 2009 That's one mean bit**!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She got what she deserved. Quote
seyone Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 That girl is nuts. I can't imagine what she is like at home with her man. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted November 7, 2009 Super User Posted November 7, 2009 I don't know the rules of soccer but did she really do anything wrong? She punched the girl in the back because the girl elbowed her first, in the gut. She yanked the pony tail because the girl was holding onto her shorts. Looked like fair play to me. Elbow me and you get punched. Hold my shorts and I'll drop ya to the ground. Quote

I tend lean this way too, almost every turn was in retaliation, how many of you guys played hockey, charging the boards with the stick poking out your glove a few inches? : Quote

Or if a wide receiver facemasked a cornerback for pulling on his jersey... There is a certain level of contact that is acceptable, then there is a level that is not. For example, slide tackling is legal, but punching an opponent in the face during the slide tackle is not. That is why this girl is a dirty player. Quote

Now the girl that got yanked down by her hair, that was a little overboard. Quote

It depends, was Shaq elbowed intentionally while being boxed out? They got her way too fired up. It'd be hard for many of us would be able to refrain while players on another team took "small" shots at you. Quote

If Shaq punched a guy for boxing him out, he would be kicked out of the game and fined, regardless of whether the guy "elbowed" him intentionally or not. Those nudges and pulls happen in women's soccer, they are part of the game. The players should be used to dealing with it. This girl's reaction was more violent than usual, that's why it was on TV. The other little things are normal, the reaction was not. Quote

Well I mean really if it was straight forward this girl reacting crazy to stuff that happens all the time when she plays then why would she over react this time? It looked like the girls on the other team were antagonizing her and I'm sure on the field there was more than we saw just from clips. I'm not going to sit here and say she's a ***** though because I wasn't on the field and don't know anything other than the clips i saw. Quote
fathom Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 i got my eye on her... ...if she starts work at the post office. Quote

Come on 4bizz, your attitude concerning soccer, and women's soccer in particular is uncalled for. This was a really exciting game. The final score was a whopping 1 to 0.! : Ok, you're right, as American's we shouldn't care about soccer. Now, it's Sunday afternoon, let's get back to the REAL FOOTBALL. Quote
