BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted November 2, 2009 Author BassResource.com Advertiser Posted November 2, 2009 Congratulations to all six of you guys and your grades. There are heavy boxes of goodies on the way to you guys. Be carefull when you open the boxes, I threw some traps and cranks in because your grades were so high. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted November 2, 2009 Super User Posted November 2, 2009 thanks again FishinDaddy, this is real cool of you. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted November 2, 2009 BassResource.com Administrator Posted November 2, 2009 ... by age 30, you're too old to know everything, and are thus deemed suitable for civilized company. That's the best quote I've seen in a LONG time! ;D Thanks FishinDaddy. That's an incredibly unselfish act! Quote
FordNFishinLover Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Again, thanks alot! Excited to get the package. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted November 4, 2009 Author BassResource.com Advertiser Posted November 4, 2009 Ok, the packages went out on Monday, priority mail, so they should arrive Wed or Thur. Since you don't have them yet I thought I would torture you guys a bit. : All of the boxes were packed at random. All of them have at least 15 bags of plastic. Some of the bags are new, never opened, some half empty. All of them have small Storm swimbaits. 2 of them have large swimbaits. All of them have jigs, 2 have several new jigs. All of them have Chatterbaits, rattle traps and crankbaits. 1 of them has a new spool of Cajun Mono. Dave, Lee, Cody, Hayden, Zachary, Nick, you guys earned these packages by working hard in school and getting good grades. This was not part of the deal, but I have a request. Each box has somewhere around 100 dollars worth of stuff in them and the shipping cost 12.00 each. My challenge to you guys is to collect 120 cans of food from your neighborhood (you can have your friends help) and donate them to your local food bank. Or you could volunteer 12 hours (you can have your friends help again) at the food bank. If you are up to the challenge, reply here and then tell us how your collecting/volunteering went. Quote
JigMe Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 I am up for it. I will call the Baltimore city food bank today; I have volunteered there before and won't mind doing it again. I will let you guys know once I have completed my service. Quote
daviscw Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Awesome idea! I got to thinking of what else I could do also, and realized I should donate the many coats I don't wear to the Give a Kid a Coat campaign. Quote
Super User Tin Posted November 4, 2009 Super User Posted November 4, 2009 Awesome idea! I got to thinking of what else I could do also, and realized I should donate the many coats I don't wear to the Give a Kid a Coat campaign. Kill 3 birds with one stone... For Christmas tell your girl that forget buying each other gifts and whatever money you were going to spend on one another, do one of those "adopt-a-family" type things. In doing this you... A. Help a family and kids by giving them a great Christmas they couldn't have had otherwise. B. Don't have to stress about figuring out something she wants/needs in the days prior. C. Look like the hero to her and all of her friends so...well...ummm....play it to your advantage. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted November 4, 2009 Super User Posted November 4, 2009 package came today. WOW! thanks a bunch fishindaddy, lots of great stuff in there. truly a class act! Quote
ptomacbass Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 I got the package today. I'm giving some of the stuff to some friends and keeping some for my self. And also, I will probably be doing the volunteering sometime this year. Is it ok if I do something like volunteer at a children's center? Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted November 4, 2009 Author BassResource.com Advertiser Posted November 4, 2009 Cody - that jacket thing sounds awesome... Nick - anywhere you want to volunteer is fine. Just let us know how it went. Quote
Fat-G Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Fishndaddy, you are the absolute man. Got my package today and it was like Christmas in November. Thanks for eveything! For everyone else: The package included Senkos, Trick Worms, Gambler Flappin' Daddy's, and much more. Thank you again! Quote
seyone Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 I love this thread. Fishindaddy , you are a class act. Helping out the kids and in turn helping out the needy, its just really nice to see. Quote
JigMe Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Fishndaddy, you are awesome. I have never seem this many lures in a box... I will share your gift with my friends as well, and we will volunteer together. Quote
FordNFishinLover Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Well this gives me a good reason to do what a friend and i have been planning on doing. We have been talking about going to our several local lakes, rivers, and ponds and picking up all the trash/cans, ect.. Figured if we get very many cans i could donate the money to a charity or church. (this all reminds me of the commercial on tv where one person helps another and it just keeps spreading and spreading.) Great idea, and thanks alot! Quote
FordNFishinLover Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Sorry im just now getting saying thank you, (got my package last week), but my internet hasn't been working and havent had a chance until today. Anyhow i must say THANK YOU very very much, it was a very gracious thing to do! Quote
