IMO, there was quite a bit of favoritism and I'm glad to see that it has been addressed.  Glenn took the initiative to contact me personally regarding an issue and hopefully it's been resolved, I applaud him for that.

As of late I have been limiting my time on BR and posting much less.

Glenn,

It's YOUR website and forum, and we get tons of amazing information and entertainment FOR FREE, thanks to YOUR site. Anyone who complains needs to unbunch is undergarments. I don't agree with every one of your policies, but honestly, I have no right to complain about it unless I'm paying a membership fee. You and the mods do an amazing job, and just know that regardless of any complaints you get, the vast majority of us are incredibly thankful for having a place like this to come for information and entertainment. Thank you.

When I hear complaints about favoritism, it reminds me of a small child complaining to his mother about something not being fair.

Guess the favoritism is being shown to BASS FISHERMEN who are here to learn about BASS FISHING.

Well and really, let's assume it is the case. So what? This is not a paid service, it is free for us but not to Glenn. Glenn pays the bills, Glenn can do whatever he wants and if we don't like it, well...

Truthfully though, i think the guys do a great job monitoring and running this site. Having moded a couple boards myself over the years, it is never easy, you never can make everyone happy. However, this is one of the first places I have been where I have not run into someone calling someone else Hitler or comparing them to Nazis or collapsing into political or religious screaming.

It is a pleasant, almost always very family friendly site and you learn some great stuff about fishing...win/win

I think you read what I wrote out of context.

Tony, that really was not a shot at you or anyone specifically on this board. Call it one of my sore spots at having moded boards before. Plenty of folks on all board will scream that. If you are moderating other folks it is fine, but when it comes to their posts you are wrong, or holding some grudge against them. Like you said, it is childish, and 99.999999% of the time totally garbage.

Glenn,

Running a board is not easy, especially one of this size.  It's like running a company, in the sense that you have so many personalities to deal with.  You guys are doing a great job.

Lets fish.

I was wondering this myself, may have something to do with members being asked to leave?

I don't believe they are asked to leave  , I believe they are told that they are leaving.

To be clear, nobody was asked to leave.  There were a few members who were pushing the limits, and they were contacted individually to resolve the issues.  All issues were resolved to every one's satisfaction on all sides except for one member, who was being overly aggressive towards other members on several occasions.

Anyone that's been here for any amount of time knows that we do not tolerate that kind of behavior here.  I reminded him of that, and let him know there are other forums out there that allow personal attacks and confrontations, if that was indeed what he wanted to do.  He stated he wasn't going to change, and voluntarily left.

While I'm saddened to see any member leave, I do understand that one size does not fit all, and sometimes we're not a good fit for some people - particularly those who like to argue aggressively, create conflict, or be disruptive in general.  Now I'm not saying this person was all of those things, but it became evident we were no longer a good fit for him, nor he a good fit for us.  Some people just get burned out after awhile. So his departure was mutually agreed.

That said, I do hope that most people feel comfortable here and enjoy "hanging out" with their friends.  Judging by most of the responses, I think we're doing the best we can, but there's always room for improvement.

I think this has already become way more than I intended.  I only meant to remind folks that we try to promote a positive atmosphere here, and would appreciate it if folks would do a gut check before posting to make sure they're not coming off the wrong way (such as condescending, angry, derogatory, etc.).  Sometimes that can happen, even though the person posting may not be aware they're sounding that way.

This can even happen to "established" members sometimes, as it can feel as though "everyone knows I'm kidding here" or "they know what I mean".  I know it happens to me!  :P

Anyway, I just want to offer some encouragement to do the right things. This is a family forum, and we need to treat everyone like they are a member of our family.

I've said it before and I'll say it again keep in mind that print leaves a lot to be desired on what someone may mean or how they come acrossed vs a live conversation.

We should all keep that in mind before we react         ( easier said than done sometimes )

Your 99% correct Glenn, except this is not a Family Forum. Its more a pg14 IMHO.

One more thing don't incourage us to treat each other as we do family then we'd be all arguing alot more 8-) ;D
