NewAngler Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Where do I start? this is going to be a GREAT game. A lot of changes here in DC this past week, and hopefully for the better.new play caller in Sherm Lewis, new fire under Cambpells arse. Its going to be good. I'm putting everything I have left with this team tonight. EVERYTHING. Win or loose, I might find a creeper tear rollin down my cheek. I know I'm gonna get near merked for this. Back me up, Boett!! Super User Tin Posted October 26, 2009 Super User Posted October 26, 2009 The Skins lost to KC and the Eagles lost to the Raiders last week. So both teams really need to win. The Skins because everyone hates Zorn and the Eagles because McNabb's head will be wanted if they go down this week. Especially will Kolb and Vick waiting on the sidelines. It is a must win for both teams, but I won' be watching it. I think I'm going to paint my room and watch it dry while getting a buzz from the fumes. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 26, 2009 Super User Posted October 26, 2009 Tin was being nice, real nice. He only hit below the belt once, I'd done it twice. First with Detriot, then the KC blow. Since my team is from the East, I hope Washington beats Philly, the more talented team on paper. Washington has some talent, but your only going to go as far as your QB play takes ya. I have Tony Ohno who I like alot, but when he's having one of his Ohno days, we look like Detriot to! Quote
NewAngler Posted October 26, 2009 Author Posted October 26, 2009 Keep talkin! (I may wat my words and delete this thread later) but I think both teams are beyond ticked off, and are ready to destroy anything and everything in their way. I hope it to be a GREAT game witha tight finish. A game winning drive coordinated by Campbell to boost his confidence and sail into the bye week. Wooooooo! 6 and half hours till kick off! Quote

Skins / Eagles = ZZZZZZZZ Much like I did during my Bears game from the beginning of the 2nd quarter on Quote
Boett43 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Im pretty optomistic about tonight, it could be the start of our season turning around. Sherm Lewis has a Superbowl Ring on his finger, so i like that. Im excited to see the defense get its first true challenge of the season. Any way beer is on hand just incase it gets ugly. Chew , Football, Nachoes ;D Quote
Carmen J Bernardo Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 I just might sit down and watch tonight's game. Being a fan of the Eagles back when Buddy Ryan was the head coach and we had at least half a chance in the playoffs every season, it kind of hurts to see what Reid has been doing since he took over (blowing more than winning) but it's more fun than getting high off of paint fumes. I'm pretty much an NFL/NASCAR boy. Gotta say that I'm off of the beer for a while because of a diet change that I'm on right now (almost ballooned out of control again), but I'd love me a Coors Light. :exclamation Quote
Boett43 Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Im preddicting 27-24 Redskins. haha I can dream, calling 9 feild goals too Quote
NewAngler Posted October 27, 2009 Author Posted October 27, 2009 it kind of hurts to see what Reid has been doing since he took over (blowing more than winning) :exclamation Are we thinking of the same andy reid that's taken them to 4 NFC championship games in 10 years? That pretty good. I'd eliminate a small country for that kind of playoff presence. Quote
Boett43 Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Not looking good, my friends are about to be watching the outdoor channel lol cuase i got the remote Quote
Carmen J Bernardo Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 I left the game at halftime -- I'm still sleeping like it's early workdays although the contract is done -- and even though the "Birds" were up 27 to the 'Skins' 14, it was looking kind of ugly. This morning's headlines revealed an Eagles win. I have to say that Cutler just looked rattled, many times over. McNabb was typical sloppy McNabb throughout the 1st half and those penalties were killers. I'm surprised about the score as it was, but much of it was Redskins offensive turnovers with one punt return for an Eagles TD. I have to wonder how long Westbrook will be out. That was a scary hit. Reviewing the game on FOXNews.com, it seems that I didn't miss much on the 2nd half. Virtually no scoring from the Eagles; Redskins got one more FG. Chalk this one up to the Birds' defense. Wake up, McNabb! > Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 27, 2009 Super User Posted October 27, 2009 The Dead Skins are a joke but are still better then the clowns (browns.) Quote
NewAngler Posted October 27, 2009 Author Posted October 27, 2009 Cutler? Youie right, Cutler did look rattled, but he played on Sunday, and not against the Eagles. Jason Campbell, quarterback for the Redskins, confirmed my original thoughts of this team. We suck. And it hurts more than anybody could imagine, except maybe Lions fans. But I NEVER thought I would see "my" team in this situation. This organization is in shambles. Quote
Boett43 Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Redskins loss, hungover and class at 930 this morning. It was not pretty. I cant understand what portis is thinking when he runs. He runs in to the back of his blockers and just crumbles. and Stephon Heyer is NOT a starting player in the NFL Quote
Carmen J Bernardo Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 NewAngler, I can see where you're coming from. In fact, the Eagles (in spite of a reputation for getting into the playoffs often enough) make me feel that way sometimes. With McNabb getting as sloppy as he's been, I don't know how much longer they're going to manage. You just don't play down to your opponents if you can beat them. As for mixing up those quarterbacks -- sorry, I just keep mixing 'em up these days because I hardly ever got a chance to watch football these past few years since being on a job which either had me working the graveyard shift or weekend days. I should be able to make up for that now. Quote
NewAngler Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 I wish we had cutler! Better yet, I wish we had a deal with Chicago to get orton! What a beast he's been this year. Carmen, seems like your contract ended at a good time! Quote
Super User 5bass Posted October 28, 2009 Super User Posted October 28, 2009 NewAngler, whats your opinion on the coaching situation in DC? Quote
Boett43 Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Just my opinion on the coaching situation, i dont know if most people feel the same or not. I think that Sherm Lewis was really a step up in the the play-calling department I noticed it from the first play of the game. I dont think a new head coach will do much help. I really think we need someone to step in for vinny cerato, like a bill parcells type guy. Synder really needs to man up and step aside and leave football to someone who knows football. Sorry for Hijacking the question haha i needed to vent a little Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 28, 2009 Super User Posted October 28, 2009 Your organization is usually as good as your top person (owner). Cleveland........idiot owner Washington.....idiot owner Oakland...........idiot owner Feel free to add to the list. Quote
NewAngler Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 NewAngler, whats your opinion on the coaching situation in DC? Funny you ask FBL. I think that when you look at this organization its easy to point the finger at a number of people. I.e. the owner, the VP of football Operations, the coach, the quarter back, and the players. The only person people aren't blaming in this situation is the janitors that clean the park after the games. Zorn, is not qualified for the job in the least bit, and should have never been brought into an interview for a coordinating postion BEFORE a head coach was even hired. I think that I'm right along side Boett, when we need a coach that has complete control of the players and operating systems around him. The next coach needs to be a HIGH caliber guy with power and respect. Three names that come to mind, Mike Shanahan, Bill Cower, and John Gruden. Those three would have the stone to say to Dan, "Thanks for the job, sit back and watch victory happen. Let me tell you who to draft, let me tell you who to trade and who to get." Another coach that comes to mind that I don't think will need AS MUCH power as those three is Mike Holmgren, who was just going to take this year off of coaching, but has gone public about wanting to return to coaching. Shanahan allegedly denied a job to coach the Skins already this year saying that,"Me coming in the middle of the season is going to help anything out." So we know that Synder has already seeked out to fill a void in the head coach position. Basically, we need a competent, victory driven, decision making coaching TEAM. Not a coach that acts like one of Vicks dogs after a lost fight. And I know I might get clubbed for using the term "we", but I have a passion for the game of football, and even bigger passion for the Washington Redskins. It hurts to see the organization in the state that it is in right now. When they loose I feel like i got dumped my 6th grade girlfriend. I can't eat, I can't sleep, it's the worst. Sorry for the long post, I just got worked up. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 28, 2009 Super User Posted October 28, 2009 There is nothing wrong with being passoniate about your chosen team but as you get older you will finally see what it's all about(sports)and change your priorties. Quote
