Super User Matt Fly Posted October 14, 2009 Super User Posted October 14, 2009 The 5-0 Giants are coming in to take on the 4-0 Saints 1pm Sunday. Giants have been solid road team the last two years. On paper, its a coin flip. Giants giving up a few less points, but Saints out score the Giants by a few points. About 4 yards difference in total offense, both rushing games average over 160 yards a game seperated by 5 yards. I take the Saints at home. This game very well may decide home field advantage later in the season for one of these two teams. 30-27 This game should be a Monday Night or Sunday Night game. Let me think about that for awhile, it depends on whos calling the games now days. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 14, 2009 Super User Posted October 14, 2009 This should be a super game to watch. Quote
BassDeaton01 Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 This should be an awesome game to watch. I agree it should be a Monday night game! I'm a Panthers fan and seeing how their season is unfolding I just hope any team from the NFC South goes to the playoffs and does good. I think the Saints may be that team! But the Giants are going to be a tough win IMO. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 15, 2009 Author Super User Posted October 15, 2009 I'd love a close game. Need the Saints to give the G Men a loss for my Cowboys sake as well. LOL The last time the Boys got some of the Saints was there return home, and it wasn't pretty for my Boys. Sean Peyton whipped Dallas with a fullback that night. It was ugly needless to say. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 15, 2009 Super User Posted October 15, 2009 Should be a GREAT game! I think the Monday night game will be killer, too. (Denver v San Diego) 8-) Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 15, 2009 Author Super User Posted October 15, 2009 I'll take Denver in that one as well. LT is and has been very inconsistent the past couple of years. Denver has showed the ability to play some consistent defense. Denver just needs to play cover 2 and keep the throws in front and they'll make San Diego drive the field, something they've been inconsist on, the big play has set up alot of their offense. RW, we was wondering if you wanted to re-adjust your season prediction total on Denver again, they are approaching those 6 wins you predicted pretty fast. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 15, 2009 Super User Posted October 15, 2009 Yeah, I saw that on the other thread. Just need one more win! : Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 18, 2009 Author Super User Posted October 18, 2009 Has that playoff appeal. 2 heavy weights teeing off on each other. Thus far, Brees has the early round. 7-0 Quote
preach4bass Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 I predict the Saints will blow out the Giants. Quote
FordNFishinLover Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Wasn't even a game... Giants got embarassed. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 18, 2009 Super User Posted October 18, 2009 The game of the week turned out to be the Minn. vs Balt . Quote
Super User Tin Posted October 18, 2009 Super User Posted October 18, 2009 I predict the Saints will blow out the Giants. Not as bad as New England is beating up on the Oilers/Titans. 24-0 Pats, Moss has been open all game, and the Titans have turned the ball over 3 times, with lots of time before the half. New England's Rookie Vulmer who is filling in, is throwing Kyle Van Den Bosch around like a rag doll. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 20, 2009 Author Super User Posted October 20, 2009 manning is over rated yep, he may be, but he has a ring, and he don't care. And winning 11 road games in a row that year to win the Super Bowl. Shows just how over rated he is. Or leaving the SEC and playing for Ole Miss and leaving there the 5th all time QB of all time in the SEC, and thats saying alot considering the passing machines that Spurrier had at Florida before leaving for the NFL. Yea, I'd say with the genes in that family, he's over rated too. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 20, 2009 Super User Posted October 20, 2009 manning is over rated Dude shut up , you're making people from ohio look stupid. Quote
THEbassmaster Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 he has not had a season where his passer rating is over 100(this season its 102 but its only 6 games in) his career rating is 77. in his career he has 109tds 77int. lets compare to some of the other qbs in the NFL who are no where near as overrated... Carson Palmer. 88 career rating. 115tds to 74int. Phillip Rivers career rating 92.8>93. 85tds to 39int, started full time in 06. Ben Roethlisberger career rating 90.9>91. 111tds to 75int. his defense bailed him out contless times when they won the superbowl, he did have his moments but more bad then good and the D had to step. so, overrated?? YES Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 21, 2009 Author Super User Posted October 21, 2009 Over rated compare to who? Rivers? that just shows that wins are what counts. Since Rivers came into the league, he has been #2 in stats, and how has that proven Eli is over rated? What it proves is, stats don't tell the WHOLE STORY, Eli has the Ring!!!!!!! Not too mention the 11 straight road wins on the march to win the Super Bowl against the 18-0 Patriots. Eli beats Brady on the biggest stage, and he's over rated? ;D ;D ;D ;D Quote
THEbassmaster Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 i just compared him to 2 qbs who were drafted in the same year as him...and palmer who had his first starting season the same year. yes, ill admit during the playoffs he did pretty good. up till that point in the season his defense was the better part of the team. end of story. Quote
Super User Catt Posted October 21, 2009 Super User Posted October 21, 2009 There aint but one stat that mattersthe score board Quote

YES Dude , stats are for losers. Maybe if you're lucky , you'll figure that out some day. Quote
ArcticCat500 Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 There aint but one stat that mattersthe score board well said, stats dont win games, just like that silly little scorecard in golf, you only have to write down the number, not how you hit dam shot Quote
BassDeaton01 Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Over rated or not...all I have to say is Drew Brees and the Saints showed Eli Manning and the Giants who DADDY is in that game! ;D Did anyone see that scoreboard?? Quote
TommyBass Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 There aint but one stat that mattersthe score board x2 But there is more to games than a QB. The talent of a QB is irrelevant if the team around him is poor. Even if the QB has a great offense but little defense, it can keep a great QB from reaching the Super Bowl. A so-so QB can reach and win the superbowl when the team around him is great.... everything is part of the puzzle. Now saying that Eli is overrated... ummm... NO. Hes actually hounded on quite hard by many critics, and I feel like hes definately one of the best QBs in the NFC, and really even the NFL. He just has his days like most anyone else. (And no, Im not a Giants fan) Quote
THEbassmaster Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 ugh i need a beer. i could go on all day. i just dont feel like arguing with people i will never meet. Quote
