llPa1nll Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Could it be the all powerful Yankee closer has resorted to spitballs? I hope its just a weird angle or what not, however it is a tad suspicious. I for have too much respect for Rivera to try this especially in the ALCS. This does raise questions though. You can read more and see the video about it here and here. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted October 20, 2009 Super User Posted October 20, 2009 LOL, thats awesome. What's a little spit in baseball? It's part of the game. Can you think of a better way to compete against steroid freaks? Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 20, 2009 Super User Posted October 20, 2009 All's fair in love , war and baseball. Quote
Big Mike in Fl Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 official MLB rules say if found to be throwing a spit ball, its an automatic suspension for 10 days, that would be HUGE... the video looks pretty convincing I'm so glad I'm not a yankee fan. Quote

Super User Tin Posted October 21, 2009 Super User Posted October 21, 2009 Between the Mauer double that was "foul" and that double play where they said he never touched the bag would you expect the ump's or MLB to do anything? Depsite the fact that I'am a Sox fan I will say they best and most talented team in Major League Baseball, but the ump's are making their World Series run even easier. Quote
