Super User fishfordollars Posted October 19, 2009 Super User Posted October 19, 2009 He got stabbed Saturday night at a party. News said he went to school up there to get away from the violence in the Miami area. He was a good looking kid and good player. Stuff like this just turns my stomach. I hope they solve this quickly. Senseless act by someone that does not need to be on the street. Sorry for the rant. Jack Quote
Super User Dan: Posted October 19, 2009 Super User Posted October 19, 2009 I saw that story last night on ESPN. I'd like to hear more details about what happened. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted October 19, 2009 Author Super User Posted October 19, 2009 There was another person stabbed, but he has been released from the hospital according to the morning news. Police said that's the first homicide in over 30 years on campus. Sorry, that's about all I know. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted October 19, 2009 Super User Posted October 19, 2009 I read about it. Saturday night after the homecoming game win over Louisville, he went to a school sponsored event, it was a dance for homecoming on campus. And he just got stabbed to death along with another person. This was just an hour or two after their win over Louisville. And the player is also expecting a baby soon. The rest of team told the media that they expect the baby to have 100 uncles. Quote

Super User Tin Posted October 19, 2009 Super User Posted October 19, 2009 Pretty sad, I have been thinking about going to UCONN for grad school and toured it over the summer. Place is beautiful and is like a big city in the middle of cow and farm country. One of the biggest and nicest campuses around. He is the third UCONN student to be killed in the past 6 months. Quote
aarogb Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 WoW, you never hear anything bad coming out of Connecticut, this is pretty surprising. His family is in my prayers. Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 WoW, you never hear anything bad coming out of Connecticut, this is pretty surprising. His family is in my prayers. Well, maybe not UCONN, but you should hear the local news in Hartford. Deadly shootings every couple days. It's pretty ridiculous. I make it a point to steer clear of that deadbeat "city". Prayers for the family. Very tragic story. Quote

Prayers for the family. Very tragic story. Yup, Hartford is nasty. To get to the boat ramp on the CT River you drive by homeless shelters, meth clinics, and hookers. And do not go in the boat ramp area alone, police are constantly finding bodies there. In talking to a cop their a few years ago I remember him telling me they had already found 23 there. And this was in mid-July. Though Connecticut is very nice in the eastern and northwestern parts. Quote
