Simp Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Well I'm totaly bumed and ticked off at the weather!! Here in southern IL are weather man keeps blabing on how this is late November weather and not mid October weather. We are usally in the the mid 70s for highs and lows in the 50s. Instear we've had over a week where we haven't gotten out of the 50s and lows in the high 30s and low 40s. The water how lost tons of it heat way to fast. I was hoping to fish some nice 60s water for several weeks instead it running straight for the 50s. I'm talking it was in the high 70's October first or so and as off a couple days ago it was 61!! To top it off we've been pounded with cold windy rain that made it to dangerous to fish the last few weeks for the most part. Now Erau618 my fishing partner is going to have to fish this saturday in a college tourney where it won't even hit 50!! I told them they out to change it to a Muscky tourney (It's a great Muscky lake). I feel for him because he's been to busy with school to pre fish any and he doesn't know the lake well and neither do I. The only thing I could suggest to him is to find the shad and the bass should be there. The problems is this weather has SHUT THEM DOWN!!! When I was out a couple days age we found the shad and didn't have a bite. I told him bring some jerkaits and let them sit and some shacky heads. Personally I got a tourney next weekend and I'm praying to the fishing gods to give me some warm weather!! I'm just dieing for some good fishing before the fishing season is over for a couple months. Super User firefightn15 Posted October 16, 2009 Super User Posted October 16, 2009 I feel for ya Simp, my fishing basically ended back in the middle of June. A new job has kept me busy through the summer to the point where I couldn't even sneak a couple of hours in here and there. Was hoping for some good fall fishing, but that's not happening either. I hope to have things settled down thru winter so that by spring I'll have my fishing back on track. Good luck next weekend, I know you'll fish it up good. Quote
aceman387 Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 i live in the south suburbs near Chicago and were having the same crappy cold rainy weather this premature cold I'm afraid has gotten me in my winter mode (reading about fishing instead of actually doing it).Ive been trying to talk myself into going out (haven't been out in 3 weeks) have been spending the time getting our older house ready for winter. the duck hunters take over the waters any day know at the club i belong to . hoping to get out once more Quote
ring fry Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Simp, same thing around here. Supposed to be 70's and hasn't been out of the 50's in forever. There is some big, bright yellow ball poking it's head over the eastern horizon, but I'm not sure what it is. Haven't seen the sun in a week or so. Had a tournament last weekend and 'bout fell on my arse with all the frost on the boat. I hate cold weather. Quote
simplejoe Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Same here it's supposed too be in the 60's but right now it's 35 and snowing/raining outside. Next week it's showing a warm up from tuesday until saturday high 60's low 55. I got one more tourney for the year and I'm done. Then time too winterize the boat. The past 3 tournaments I've done it was raining soooo bad I thought I was back at Kentucky Lake ;D joe t. Quote
warwickforlife Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 I feel the same way. I'm near Baltimore, and it's 40 outside right now with a bit of drizzle. The water temperatures have plummeted. I was really looking forward to some nice fall fishing too. Not so sure I'm going to get much of that though. That's ok...when it's to cold to fish, that's when you get out the guns. Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Forecast for Southern New England: Temps 10 to 30 degrees below average. Record snowfall in some areas. Quote

darren Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 its my fault, everytime me, my brother and uncle try to get together this happens..goin this weekend and high in mid 50's and lows in mid 30's.. next week when im at work the high's will be in the mid to upper 60's, imagine that.. last year when we planned a trip in april, the week before we left the temps were in the mid 60's. the night before we fished there was a 25 degree temp drop with 15-20 mph windgusts and we were fishing out of a small jon boat, now thats fun? so next time you guys are planning a trip, call me and make sure i am at work, and the weather should be great........ aceman387 Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 if the weather stays like this it looks like i will be putting on that extra fat layer earlier than usual this year. Quote
BassDeaton01 Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Down here in SC it just won't stop raining to be nice fishing weather. The pond I fish does not produce anything in the rain or a couple of days after. But temps are in the high 60's, low 70's. Suppose to be a front moving through and dropping down to 40 tonight. We will see. It's good for the deer hunting anyways. Hope the weather gets better for y'all though! Quote
