Siebert Outdoors Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Check this out for laughs. Yes its legit not a scam. I ordered some stuff from a big retailer and then the send me an email saying I still owe them $. Really? I paid what they charged. So read for your entertainment. Names and #'s have been changed. If it was a mistake on your end unfortunately it's really not my problem. I just checked my invoice to this number plus my credit card statement of what I was charged. They all match to what the order number states. The order price is I was charged, I paid in full. Regards, Gman Their response. Seriously??? Dear Gman: Thank you for your email. I'm sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused. Evidently we had a system error when you placed the order and the total amount of the order did not get charged to your card. Did you want us to charge the remaining amount to your card? This is how the amounts read: Merchandise 100.48 Taxes & duty 4.25 S & H Y 14.95 Total 119.68 Net remit 116.08 Due / refund 3.60 We apologize for the inconvenience. We look forward to hearing from you soon! Have a super day! Thank you for being a valued customer! Sincerely, Mo Mo Customer Service Seriously, Am I in the wrong to tell them to stick it not my problem? I could really care less about the 3 bucks its more the matter. When someone buys something from me and I make a mistake, I eat it. Just part of doing business. Maybe I need to send them a bill for time from my company for their mistake. ;D Lawyers do this when you call them on the phone. Well some do. Quote
-HAWK- Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Honestly, I would pay them and find someone else to do business with. Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Honestly, I would pay them and find someone else to do business with. I hate to say it, but I probably would do the same. Though, if it was more money, I would refuse payment, but with this amount, it wouldn't be worth the aggravation and time. Their penalty is going to be a lost customer. Quote
bowfish12 Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Tell them it's their problem again, I don't think they have the balls to actually try to charge your card again. If they do all you would have to do is call your credit card company and have them sort out that 3 bucks. Someone has to stand up to them, if not they will do that to every customer from now on. =Matt 5.0= Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Send them a similar check like that guy did with Verizon. Then I would tell them to pound sand. Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted October 2, 2009 Super User Posted October 2, 2009 What poor customer service/relations!!!!! Are they really willing to risk losing a customer over $3.00? Quote
I.rar Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 that is ridiculous. Send them a similar check like that guy did with Verizon. Then I would tell them to pound sand. ;D ;D ;D ;D i give that a x2! Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted October 2, 2009 Super User Posted October 2, 2009 They need to eat the 3.00...I've lost much more, but hey, it was My fault. And I still have a loyal customer.. Quote
preach4bass Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I'd ask them to make one of two decisions: 1. Bill me for three dollars and lose me as a customer forever. 2. Forget the three dollars and I'll forget your poor customer service and give you another shot. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted October 3, 2009 Author Posted October 3, 2009 I'd ask them to make one of two decisions: 1. Bill me for three dollars and lose me as a customer forever. 2. Forget the three dollars and I'll forget your poor customer service and give you another shot. More I think about it the more mad I get. I like your options I'll send it over to them. ;D Quote
Super User Dan: Posted October 3, 2009 Super User Posted October 3, 2009 Keep us posted GMAN, I'd love to see what you say and what they send back. If their system messed up they should be the ones to pay. Maybe you should suggest they send the bill to the people who handle or created their credit card system. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted October 3, 2009 Author Posted October 3, 2009 I just sent them this ;D Miss, I do not see this as my problem. The glitch is on your side. I bought a good at a price quoted to me and I followed your checkout. If your checkout was messed up that is a part of doing business. Here are the options, I'll let you choose. 1. Bill me for three dollars and lose me as a customer forever. 2. Forget the three dollars and I'll forget your poor customer service and give you another shot. Regards, Mike Depending on their response of which they pick. 1. I release the name 2. I say it got taken care of. This is so worth 3 bucks of entertainment. LOL Quote
mrlitetackle Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 just found this and im highly interested to hear how it plays out..... on a side note.... matt, that check is great sh%*!!!!!, and im just as interested in the story behind that one. Quote
seyone Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 I am just loving this story, I can't wait to hear what happens. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted October 3, 2009 Super User Posted October 3, 2009 that check is great sh%*!!!!!, and im just as interested in the story behind that one. this was posted a while ago, i think sometime last year. i think it was posted in the same post as the infamous 7-legged spider. i don't remember clearly but the guy was charged for something and he sent a drawing of a 7-legged spider valued at the amount he owed. haha. i think in the end he may have sent them that check as payment. i'm not sure if the spider and check are related though, i just remember them being posted at or around the same time. and yeah gman, i'd like to see their response! done Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Man you are cooler than me. That would tick me off to no end. To begin with, IF there was a problem they should have told you right off why there was a problem. I would think that any glitch like this happens frequently enough that they should have sent you a statement outright apologized for the error and explained why there was an outstanding balance. If it did happen a lot, that may be why they are pushing $3.00. You could be one of hundreds of folks who got messed up and that overall cost may be more than they can eat. Personally, were i running the company, i would be first looking at going after the processing company that messed this up. I wonder if they have even tried or if it is possible. Either way, would like to see how this ends up for ya. Quote
ArcticCat500 Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Once you threaten them with their two choices, inform that their site will be made public to every bass fishing forum you frequent, that there are over 50,000 + viewers and members on these forums. Also educate them on how "the Internet is a powerful place" and word can spread at streaming rates, you'll be interested to hear how their Internet sales rapidly plumages over the next couple weeks or so until this incident blows over. And of course a polite sign off is necessary. I often complete with this little statement that peaks their interest. Faithfully commeted to destroying your busniess. Sincerely GMAN Quote
Koop Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Wow... This should be good, can't wait to see what they say... In the meen time... think I'll go search for 7 legged spiders. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted October 4, 2009 Super User Posted October 4, 2009 Hold up folks, I got a formula! If you want do the Verizon check thing, I got a formula for you write on your check. ;D However, assuming they solved this, just tell them the .60 cent short is the loss they can take rather than 3.60. ;D Tell them to used four-step method to find a derivative for the following function: y=3x-2 Here what they would have to do to solve it: Step 1: F(x): 3x-2 Step 2: F(x+h): 3(x+h)-2 or 3x+3h-2 step 3: F(x+h)-F(x): 3x+3h-2-(3x-2)/H step 4: is sort of the same above but you simplified it: 3x+3h-2-3x+2/h Here you do the elimination process from algebra. -3x+3x=o...-2+2=0...Leaves you with 3h/h. or h=3. Thus the derivative of the function is H=3. Thus you pay 3.00 P.S. I'm trying brush up my calculus skills for my test next week. :-/ It going to suck. Quote

I'm trying brush up my calculus skills for my test next week. :-/ It going to suck. no way man the derivative of 3x-2 is WAY to easy. for a simple function like that all you have to do is take the power of x in each term and bring it out front to multiply by the coefficient, and then subtract 1 from the power. (1)3x1-1-2 so the term 3x is to the power of 1, so multiply 1 by three, coefficient is still 3, subtract 1 from 1, zero, x drops. since 2 doesn't have an x it also drops. leaving you with 3. you could have made tha tharder! ;D Quote
