I'm probably rambling to myself but Roy is such a ****** bag thinking he's the man for winning against kimbo. That ticks me off he's not good, otherwise he'd be in the ufc already and he only won because of the huge 30lb size difference. If you don't watch this show or keep up with the ufc, you need to. It's more entertaining than any sport in my opinion. The show comes on wednesday nights at 10 on spike. Quote

No, it was a good episode but I wanted kimbo to win and of course roy took him to the ground and got the tko. Then acted like he was the best telling dana white to go get him a whopper with no pickles and he was the king and wanted it his way. Whats going to be good though is next weeks you can't miss that one. Quote

Probably, but even so a guy roys size and being good on the ground against someone who doesn't have much ground game is pretty uneven. By the end of the show kimbo will be a LOT better. Quote

He wasn't hitting kimbo with bombs he was just out of energy and used his gut on kimbo to keep him down and hit him with love taps. I really hope kimbo gets a second chance, I would love to see him fight some of the dudes without a huge weight difference. Quote

Yeah his size compared to someone with little ground game just made it so unfair but yeah kimbo against someone his size will be a good fight i cant wait till next weeks i hope to see him fight again. Just more talent and athleticism there. But it does seem these heavy weights have an extra bit of suck in them. Quote

Kimbo has been working on his ground game since he's been training with Bas Rutten and Randy Couture, but when you have a 275lb whale laying on top of you it doesn't matter. Dana White hates Kimbo, so it doesn't surprise me at all to see him sucking up to Roy after the fight. Steve Quote

Kimbo's ground game is serioulsly terrible right now, but if he can get anybody dumb enough to just stand with him he's gonna have a chance. Lastly, Wes Simms has not got much attention this season, but he's my pick to win. He has beat Frank Mir twice I believe. Quote

Steve i wouldnt say he hates him. he obviously wanted to see kimbo make it further than he did. his ground game is weak but he does throw some serious bombs and that alone would be much more entertaining than watching that heffer. growing up in miami , everyone talked about kimbo being a genuine nice guy , but after watching the youtube videos of his backyard fights , i always thought otherwise. this show really showed his personality and i was truly going for him. sucks he is just now trying to get into the UFC as old as he is. oh well , im sure he will get another chance. I really think the fight was real but I mean the fight had to be called, i was surprised htey didn't call it hte first time when he had him pinned tapping him for 20 seconds at least. And yes since he lost, i believe it is rigged in that way because kimbo is such a money magnet for dana. Which is why they will bring him back. But yeah i'm sure who fights who is staged, and maybe little arguments like that ****** british guy who keeps acting like he's going to fight rampage, thats probably set up. It's been that way for a couple seasons now. They stick around and keep on training in case someone else gets injured/sick and cant make a fight....in this case, it will be Kimbo that fights for someone. What Roy did to Kimbo is not much different than what Lesnar did to Mir in their second fight. Lesnar used his weight advantage to hold Mir down and land some punches. Roy did the same except his punches weren't as powerful as Lesnar's. Only difference was, Mir has the ability to get up but couldn't because of Lesnar's strength and weight advantage, so they called it. (plus he was getting pounded). Kimbo doesnt have the ability to get up and it didnt really matter if Roy was hitting him hard or not....he couldn't do anything about it either way and there is a rule about being able to defend yourself. And if you think about it....getting put in a crucifix position for minutes at a time like Kimbo was, you aint doing much defending of yourself. I think Kimbo should cut to 205 after the show and fight with guys closer to his weight range. If he stays a heavyweight he'll be giving up 30-40+ pounds almost every fight. Maybe after he fights at 205 for a while and gains some skills he could move back to HW and have a better chance of doing something. Quote
Tim1980 Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Five Bass Limit is right. Everyone loves Kimbo and thinks he is great. He is a STREET fighter, not a mixed martial arts fighter. He is like a turtle if he's on his back he's done. He has power in his punches, but needs a lot more work on his ground game, by then he will be too old. He should just go in there swinging, and hope he catches the other fighter. Lesnar who people also love because of his marketing would take Kimbo down and lay on him also, he would have more power in his punches, and people would say WOW isn't Lesnar amazing. IMO the UFC has the worst heavyweights in mma. Look at the past champions other than the 40 something year old Randy Couture. Sorry I had to get that off my chest. Quote

The difference between this fight and Lesnar/Mir was that Lesnar bashed Mir's brains in from top position while Roy simply played it safe to get the W, but he is still a tool Quote
