Bassnbrett101 Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 I was just wondering if anybody on this forum has ever heard of this product, and if you have what do you think of it? The owner of the company contacted me and sent me on for free awhile back and it's working out to be better than I expected. I expected it to be something almost like the kicktail minnows or the banjo minnnows, something out there to catch more fishermen than fish. But it went way above those expectations on some of the things it advertises. It says it improves your casting, I havent noticed any real improvement in that area. It does however increase your hookup ratio on a spinning outfit a great deal. I don't really fish it on a baitcaster because like alot of guys I didn't see the benefits of teaching myself to use a left-handed reel early enough. For fighting fish though theres nothing better, it really does help the fatigue from taking over in your arms. What does everyone on here think? Quote
slomoe Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 I got an email from them as well. Interesting idea, but probably something you could make yourself. Quote
Bassnbrett101 Posted June 23, 2008 Author Posted June 23, 2008 The turboset is an arm cradle you attach to your fishing pole and it gives you leverage on your hooksets, it also swivels with your arm when the fish is fighting. It does take a little while to break in the swiveling though. And a guy from my bass club used to make them out of PVC pipe before it was being manufactured Quote
bkoguy07 Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 You get fatigued from fighting a fish? I could see the use of it in setting the hook, but I don't see how anyones arms would get tired from fighting a bass...? Maybe saltwater? No offense or anything, I'm just asking, it sounds like an interesting product! Quote
Bassnbrett101 Posted June 23, 2008 Author Posted June 23, 2008 lol not normally, but I did take it to erie with me. 100 big smallies in 3 days does tire out my forearm on a spinning rod with 8 lb test. No offense taken I shoulda probably mentioned that when I talked about the "fish fatigue" lol. Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Jeeze, I'd sooner wear a miniskirt before I wore an arm brace to help me set the hook and fight fish. It reminds me of some of the many ridiculous golf swing aids that have come out, but much more ridiculous (remember, we're fishing). Quote

Bassnbrett101 Posted June 25, 2008 Author Posted June 25, 2008 When your at erie its not hard to catch 100 smallies. I was jerkbaiting and drifting tubes in Dunkirk bay when they were getting ready to spawn. Almost everywhere you went there were big fish willing to hit. And thanks everyone for your opinions! Quote
warmer Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 lol to each his own I guess miniskirt? or turboset? Quote

Almost everywhere you went there were big fish willing to hit.And thanks everyone for your opinions! I know what you mean man. I just got back from Erie and I had a blast. Between those football smallies and those idiot drum your arm gets wore out. I bass fish pretty hard most of the time but I was nowhere near ready for fighting those all week. By the end of the week, my arm was aching pretty bad and we had nowhere near 100 smallie days. Quote
bkoguy07 Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Lol Yeah I've heard Erie is good fishing, just didn't know it was that good. Quote
Bassnbrett101 Posted June 26, 2008 Author Posted June 26, 2008 lol not 100 a day, that rediculous. I caught 20 some one day and 40 some the next two days. Warmer - miniskirt or turboset apparently its one in the same lol. I must say though if my sponsors wanted me to wear a miniskirt to a tourny and I was getting paid to do it I would. Quote
