HossFly Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 A professional pest control guy once told me that if you remove the spider's food supply, you help to eliminate the spiders. Find the same insect(s) in the webs? Maybe try to remove those pests first, then go after those spiders. Me, personally, i will pick up a live rattlesanke and beat someone with it to keep a spider away from me. Yeah, you can say i don't care too much for them...... Quote

Red Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 I saw one once at work and it was completely black. No lighter sections on the legs and no white "trim" around the red. That spider was black and red, thats it. It had a male nearby with like four little egg sack lookin things. Nasty little guys. We also see Wolf Spider salot at work, they are huge!! They totally freak me out. Quote

A local grocery store over here got a load of bananas and a lady got bit by a "banana spider". They dont look too nice on google. Quote
Super User Sam Posted September 24, 2009 Super User Posted September 24, 2009 Micro, I think plaintiff attorneys are placing the spiders at your home to drive you nuts so you will give them anything they ask for. Better start spraying for lawyers. ;D ;D ;D Quote
ValkyrieRider Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Wow, what a bunch of HATERZ.. I don't kill any spiders Unless they are in direct conflict with someone in the family. I have 2 good sized blackwidows that have webs outside, I never bother them, nor any other spider..they have a job to do. I use to have reptiles and spiders as a kid, and have no fear of them. Although my mom got bitten by a black widow years ago, was no big deal, the doctor fixed her up in no time. The onlt time I'd kill spiders, was if there was a ton of em..and created a problem for humans. Plus they make great fish bait..lol Me too, I've got 2 spiders on my front porch that are quite big. They spin webs every night (i think they're orb weavers) and they catch and eat a good amount of bugs. As long as they leave me alone I leave them alone. I do hate walking docks in the morning though. I can't stand walking through webs. Quote
bowfish12 Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 I just went out and sprayed again. I just don't get it. I will find one. Kill it. Clean the web. Spray all around looking for others. Within days, there's another one. I find them around the inside of my garage door, my front porch and my back deck. Usually when I find them, they are already half dead from the last spray. I have a brown recluse problem at my house, it's covered in them. What I have done is sprayed a chemical called TEMPO. I've sprayed around the house outside and in the basement so far. Since I have sprayed downstairs I have not seen one spider, they all moved up stairs. Sticky traps work but don't get rid of the problem. I'm waiting on the windex bottle to be empty to spray upstairs and then that should take care of the problem. The problem with the professionals is that sometimes they don't get rid of the bugs, they just hold them off for awhile so you can keep calling and paying them to come out. If you can find TEMPO in your area that should take of all bug problems. Any feed store should have it. Quote
