ROCbass Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Is anyone predicting any upsets tonight? As a Bills fan, I have never been less optimistic at the start of a football season than I am going into tonight's game. I fully expect them to get their heads torn off by the Patriots, and have it set the tone for their entire season. Hopefully they prove me wrong. Time will tell i guess... Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted September 14, 2009 Super User Posted September 14, 2009 No , you hit it on the head . The Bill's are going to get their ***** handed to them. Quote

Do you remember any of the Joe Ferguson years? I used to dread that man. Never looked forward to a season at all until Kelly came around. I still got a soft spot for Buffalo, would LOVE absolutely LOVE for them to have a Super Bowl season and win it. Probably not be this year, but it would be sweet. Besides, you can't start any worse then the Panthers did this year... Quote
ROCbass Posted September 14, 2009 Author Posted September 14, 2009 I'm 21, so Ferguson was before my time. The Superbowl losses to the Cowboys are the first things I remember about the Bills. Quote
done Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Well you were LUCKY!! Yeah the Giants (Wide right) loss was the worst. After waiting soo long for a season like that Buffalo could have used a SB win. IMO, that was the only one that they should have one. With Kelly, Reed, Thomas, BRUCE!!, and the brick wall we had for an offensive live, that was one of the best teams I think the NFL has ever seen. They showed up gangbusters that every game that season except the SB. Was like someone replaced them with look alikes for the SB. Quote
Uncle Leo Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 No , you hit it on the head . The Bill's are going to get their ***** handed to them. No way they got TO. Quote
ROCbass Posted September 14, 2009 Author Posted September 14, 2009 So, which game will be more of a blowout? Quote
adclem Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Take your pick. The Raiders and the Bills have got their hands full with the Chargers and the Patriots. Later, Quote
wagn Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 First Pat's game of the year and I'm stuck at work tonight. Not only am I missing the game but my cousin was hired to rap during a 30 second commercial for Monday night football during todays game and I'm going to miss that too. Man am I glad I have DVR Quote
Steven Ladner Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 No , you hit it on the head . The Bill's are going to get their ***** handed to them. Well said Quote
frogtog Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Talk about having to wait..... me and Marino waited for fifteen years to get a ring and it never happened. In fact we waited so long that I now have my own team ( Panthers ) and they aren't much better. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted September 15, 2009 Super User Posted September 15, 2009 Only 4 players left from Super Bowl teams, those all offense. They have young, unproven defense. We see if either of these games are blowouts. 8-) Quote
Super User Dan: Posted September 15, 2009 Super User Posted September 15, 2009 wow, the Pats were darn lucky to win that one...(assuming they keep the Bills from scoring again in the last 50 seconds) Quote
bmadd Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 I agree with Dan. Had it not been for the return guy trying to bring that ball back they probably would have had it won. I hope the next game is equally exciting. Quote

Turtle. Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Now that's the way to kick off Monday night football baby. Wow Great game. All he had to do was take a knee in the end zone. Bet that one will haunt him for a while. Quote
FordNFishinLover Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Yea it sucks to know they could of easily won that game... Whats with the super late monday (raiders) game? Im dog tired. No way im stayin up for it lol. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted September 15, 2009 Super User Posted September 15, 2009 Raiders up 7-0 at the end of the 1st qtr. WOOOO HOOOO! They actually look like a football team. Running the ball, passing a little bit, sacking Rivers, causing a fumble by LT. Russell did throw an interception but I'll give him a pass on that one since it was early. I know there's 3 more quarters but I like what I've seen so far. Quote

ROCbass Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 That was tough to watch, but at least they were competitive, which is more than I expected. While I agree that had McKelvin taken a knee the Bills would have won, I can't say I blame him for trying to make something happen. He probably should have gone down once he was hit instead of trying to drag 3 tacklers to get an extra three yards though. Despite the tough loss at the end, I did see a lot of things from the Bills that give me more hope for the season than I had going into this game. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted September 15, 2009 Super User Posted September 15, 2009 both games were a lot closer than everyone thought they would be. I think the close scores show that there will be a lot more parity in the NFL this year. Quote
