FishingBuds Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Was watching the Braves vs Cards game tonight and there was three BAD calls by the umps, was wondering, do the Umps still get graded or has something changed for that? Quote
Stasher1 Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 I don't see anything wrong with the calls... as long as they're in the Braves' favor. Quote

Stasher1 Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 You'd think so with the amount of time he spends on the DL. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted September 12, 2009 Super User Posted September 12, 2009 The call on Albert's first "error" was reminiscent of Deckinger's call in 85...well maybe not quite that bad. The strike zone was HUGE! The plate ump must have plans for later this evening? There is some kind of grading system, but I have no idea how it works. Quote
adclem Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 I wouldn't want their job that is for sure. Making calls on a play that is moving at full speed is a lot tougher then making them on slow motion instant replay. Later, Quote
