After all of the trash-talkin' that Lane Kiffen has spread it's good to see that the Vols came out and backed up his bravado.  Certainly is nice to have such a decisive victory under the belt to build confidence, and calm the nerves for another glorious season of SEC smashmouth football!!

Tennessee    63

WKU              7

GO VOLS!!!

It's just WKU.  Give them two more weeks before you start crowing.

Just refreshing to see a team not sit on a 35 point lead.

Congratulations to the Vols. Please post again when they're not 31-point favorites.  ;D

Flordia?  Is that near Alamba?

I'm really slacking the week I go back to school...

But either way, Florida by 30+. I'm sure they really want to shut Kiffen up.

Yeah, well, it was just WKU.  I heard somewhere that Urban Meyers said he wanted to beat Kiffen by at least 50.  I wonder if that is for the whole game, or for each half.   ;D

Anyway, it's a good start.  I'll still be pulling for the Vols to make it a close, interesting game against Florida.  (It's good to have a dream.)

RB, I can't explain it.  Maybe T was just trying to lull WKU into a false sense of security?!?  Probably not.  Either that or at half time the team traded uniforms with the Indy Colts.  I mean, Peyton was at the game yesterday.  ;)   LOL

How do you explain the first half? Fumbles and interception. My middle school football team has a better program than WKU. ;D

By that quote I'm guessing you mean the first half of the first quarter. Tennessee played pretty solid the rest of the game and Crompton looks to be much improved over last season. Brice Brown looks to be a beast. Montario Hardesty looked good as well. Our receivers don't look to be as bad as they were labeled to be. I know all of this was against the Hilltoppers but there were still some promising things in the win.

As for Florida, things could get ugly  :-/

What about the first half?  UT's first two drives ended with turnovers.  After that, they rolled.

The Vols had a good preseason game and they did very well.

Now for the coaches to see the film, make adjustments, and start getting ready for the SEC slate.

Should be another crazy football year with a number of teams having a shot at the BCS Title Game in Pasadena.

My Fighting Tigers are not ready for the SEC and Miles and staff better start making some adjustments.  On the other hand, maybe Miles did not want to show too much as to what the offense and defense can do as it was not needed against a very competitive Washington team.

Next few weeks will start separating the contenders from the pretenders.  :)

I know its WKU but they're still a D-I school. We're not gonna be great by any means this year. I predict about 8 wins. But it looks like we have 4 good RB's and this was a good game for Crompton to get his confidence up by throwin 5 TD's

GO VOLS!

Sure, Its not like they beat a huge team like USC, the Gators, etc.....

BUT, after the decline and then hitting rock bottom last year, the team, the university, and the fans really needed a good start to this season.

I don't think anyone is expecting an undefeated season or anything, but last weekend's performance provides hope for the future.

Not to state the obvious, but we'll have a much better idea after this coming Saturday as to how things may shake out this year. The Vols should be pretty motivated to beat UCLA........

Get it straight, nice to see them not trying to sit on a 3 point lead, and actually going out to score at will.  Fulmer had a problem with scoring on inferior teams like that, if you want to play in the game and get the big check that comes with it then don't be upset when you get the beatdown that should come with it.

Sam welcome to Chavis, Fulmer got alot of the blame for the defense as well.  When you see the same stuff happening at another school, well enough said.

I think Washington's defense was impressive with that new guy from USC.

But LSU was running that option a lot...  :-?

If they can win a NC with it then get me some Texas Pete and I'll have some crow...

They seemed to be forcing it though. Almost like trying to work out the qinks.

Watch Navy. Their triple option is like a well oiled machine. If they only had better athletes....
