Super User Root beer Posted September 5, 2009 Author Super User Posted September 5, 2009 Since when is listing facts bragging? If you didn't want brag about it, you wouldn't have listed their facts. ;D I'm convinced that my middle school has a better football program than Western Kentucky. My god they are totally giving Tennessee the ball as if Kiffin paid the players to do so. Quote
NewAngler Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 How about Jimmy Clausen?!?! Granted it was nevada, but he sure as sh!t needed that for his confidence. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted September 6, 2009 Super User Posted September 6, 2009 how about a "JV" team beating Virginia? Love it! oh, and you Ohio State fans should be embarrassed. EMBARRASSED! Ohio State=annually overrated. Quote
Quitlimpin Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Didn't know I was a BYU fan until tonight. That siren you hear in the distance is the butt-hurt alarm going off in Norman. I could live on Okie tears. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted September 6, 2009 Super User Posted September 6, 2009 I doubt there is a team in the country that could do much better if they lost a QB as good as Bradford. Let Superman get hurt and see just how good UF does. Quote
Quitlimpin Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Bradford is on helluva player, but they weren't exactly rolling with him in the game. He got dusted more than once. That inexperienced o-line & not having Gresham was the difference in the game. The OU apoligists and nuthuggers will have every excuse ready------next Thursday when they finally acknowledge the fact that they got beat. Quote
The Unabasser Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 no mention of Michigan...granted it was only against western MI...we'll see when they play somebody worth while...Forcier & Robinson looked good on another note it was cool to see Syracuse actually show up for a game Quote
Super User Root beer Posted September 6, 2009 Author Super User Posted September 6, 2009 I'm not going take anything away from Virgina Tech, but Alabama played like crap during first three quarters. I am still shock we won the game, but I will take the win. If this was Mike Shula's team, Alabama would have gave up in 4th quarter. We held VT's offense to 155 yards, and yet they was still in the game. What the heck? : Greg McElroy looks pretty good considering the fact he never had time to throw the ball. (VT D-line is pretty darn fast) Props to VT putting coverave on Julio Jones, because I'm glad to see we got a TE and 2 more receivers that will catch the ball. But anyway, roll tide roll. Quote
Super User Tin Posted September 6, 2009 Super User Posted September 6, 2009 oh, and you Ohio State fans should be embarrassed. EMBARRASSED! Ohio State=annually overrated. They could easily be a 4 loss team this year. I can see next week against USC and the Penn State game being big time blow outs. I couldn't tell last night if LSU's defense sucks that bad or Washington is entering a new era. Quote
bmadd Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Besides all of the personal fouls against Alabama, I don't think they played all that bad. They're going to have to stop the run and returns better though. Of those 150 some odd yards of offense, 130 something came from the rb. Plus those two big returns really hurt them. Ingram is a beast. if he stays healthy and Alabama can get better in those two areas then they'll be very tough. Georgia on the other hand, I think they were a little overrated. Everybody thought that the loss of Stafford and Moreno wouldn't be that bad. Well it showed. Those two fumbles were terrible. The quarterback's aim wasn't really there either. Oklahoma State looked like a very good team as well. Their offense is tough and Dez Bryant is the real deal. That was an awesome catch in the end zone. Quote

However, we did stop the run. VT only had 64 rushing yards, 91 passing yards . We did great job containing this offense that was suppose be much better than year ago. Tyrod got pressured all night long and sacked 2 or 3 times. I was MAD about the kickoff returns. Especially one in 4th quarter where a late hit called gave VT an excellent field position then a sophomore safety for Alabama made a bad angle allowing VT's runningback to sprint 34 yards into end zone. Super User Dan: Posted September 6, 2009 Super User Posted September 6, 2009 Williams had 71 yards with 5.5 YPC so he did pretty well, it was just overshadowed because the total rushing yards were skewed by the big sacks. Quote

Oh yeah, I forgot about Tyrod Taylor -26 rushing yards. ;D. yup. They really shouldn't waste his speed. They need to try to run him more often. I'm not sure if it would have helped last night but I think it would add to their offense if they called some plays that let him run free. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted September 6, 2009 Author Super User Posted September 6, 2009 Yeah, he flew by one of our defender one time. The other one was a designed play to flush him out. They talked about it after the play happen. It was where the Alabama SS comes flying in off the corner sent Taylor outside where the corner back was standing and force him out of bound for like yard or two. Then early in the game the cornerback actually threw him out of bound then they flag Taylor for intentional grounding. Alabama was prepare for it. Quote
