moby bass Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 its now fixed and back to normal.... 250 down the drain, and surely a hike in the insurance premiums. thankful that i was able to get it done so quickly though. the guys at safelite autoglass did good work too, i might add. I wouldn't think your premiums would increase. After all, this wasn't your fault. Quote
mrlitetackle Posted August 26, 2009 Author Posted August 26, 2009 Posted by: Hammer 4 Posted on: Today at 7:39pm Glad it worked out, but I can relate to your pain.. Short story re: auto vandilisum...when I was 15 or 16, we were riding in a friends car, out on these old dirt roads. We passed a fairly new Plymouth sedan, we noticed the radio antena broken, but thought nothing of it..So we drive about 1/8 mile down the road and park, we'er sittin there talkin when these 2 guys walk up, they look to be about 20 or so. They ask if we tore up their car, we said no, but noticed the antenna broken as we drove by. Welp the the guys start acusing us of doing the damage, we try in a friendy manner to explain we Didn't touch their car, when outta the blue, Wham, this dude hits me in my forarm with a 3/4" drive socket wrench..made a pretty nice hole in my arm..for something I/we never did. They then walked off..I never filed a police report. The moral,,make sure you have the Right guilty party.. My moto re: my truck is...you toucha my truck..I breaka you face.. make sure its the right party that was involved........ ...always the correct choice. but, sorry to hear that happened to ya. nasty story. ive actually cooled off quite a lot in just 1 day from the incident.... now im just glad its fixed and the mess is over, but still.... if i see the culprits in the future.... this will change..... but until, or if, then..... im just fine. Posted by: moby bass Posted on: Today at 8:30pm I wouldn't think your premiums would increase. After all, this wasn't your fault. ....im no ins. expert, so you may be correct..... and trust me, i hope that you are. but somehow i strongly believe that my rates will rise. after all, if someone rear ends your car..... that is their fault (under the law).... and your rates will still likely increase from the claim and damage covered...... Super User SirSnookalot Posted August 26, 2009 Super User Posted August 26, 2009 As far as your auto premium being increased I rather doubt it. This is a comp claim and not a collision claim, different set of guidelines, although they may vary from state to state. No sense in to getting into the state differences of a "no fault" collision claim as this does not apply in this case. Quote
moby bass Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 If someone rear ends you, your insurance may pay to have your car repaired but your company will, I believe, seek payment from the other guy's company. Again, rates shouldn't rise for you. they might for the other guy. Quote
Big Mike in Fl Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 hey mr lite.... if you figure them out, where they live, or where they can be found, let me know, I'd be glad to come take care of a few little punks like that if you know what I mean... Quote
Super User Sam Posted August 26, 2009 Super User Posted August 26, 2009 Man, I hate when that happens. If you have a portable GPS unit, thieves are taking them to locate your house as they know you are not home. So by the time you call the law enforcement agency, wait for a deputy or officer, make the report and drive home, they have already visited your house. On one hand I am glad you did not catch them as you would have been in more trouble by injuring them they would be by damaging property. Just remember, what goes around comes around, so the culprits will probably get something nasty done to them one day to balance the scales. Quote

I plan on calling the ins. company in the next few days to find out for sure. Until then, your statement is rather relieving! Posted by: Sam Posted on: Today at 1:49pm Man, I hate when that happens. Super User Bankbeater Posted August 28, 2009 Super User Posted August 28, 2009 I know how your feeling. This past summer there were some kids going around my neighborhood that vandalized 5 or 6 houses. I got a 20 pound rock through my living room window, but the insurance is taking care of it. The little $%^& weren't stealing anything just destroying property. They were hitting about one house a week, then they just stopped. The cops think they got bored and moved on to something else.
