Well, fishing was decent enough today..... I was at a local pond of mediocre fishing value with my pal, and we decided to call it quits for the day.... As we were walking back to my truck (through some trails, in the woods) we heard a LOUD bang, we were like "what the #@%& was that!!!."  Well, i guess whoever did what you see below heard us say that (we were close to my truck, but not in view of it because of how the trail bends) because we saw a blue SUV speed off right as we turned to corner.  As we walked up on my truck, the whole back windshield was busted out by a large piece of cut wood (almost like firewood).... and it was still laying in the bed of the truck.  The whole interior was covered in millions of shards of glass!!  We both got cut up from head to toe as we drove off.  Made the police report, filed the insurance claim... and its being taken care of......

That doesn't really matter though,

i just wish that we had decided to leave 2 minutes earlier.....We would have walked right up on them in the act, and i guarantee you that those punk teens (I'm positive that was the culprit) would have had the beating of their life..... Maybe its best i didn't catch them, jail doesn't sound too fun......

but still........ i seriously wish that i had!!!

Was there even anything in the cab worth their while or did they just do it for the f*** of it?!?!

I done some ignorant crap when I was younger but that takes the cake. I would never. People have no respect nowadays, especially kids.

Sorry about your truck partner. :-/

no man, nothing worth a crap inside..... dont know if they wanted a closer look, or just to destroy something that wasnt theirs.

couple of hooligans with nothing better to do i suspect.

were you able to get their plate number when the took off?

nope, sure wish i would have got at least that though.

as they raced by, there was no chance from my angle to get any information..... just a super quick glimpse at the vehicle.

i will be searching the neighborhood that is near though soon for it, as im sure the culprit(s) live nearby.

I hope you can find them. Maybe a cinder block through the windshield would be nice

ahhhh, that would be great......

along with a "nice and friendly conversation" i might add ;)

I'm really sorry to hear about your truck. That really sucks! I'm afraid that it's just a matter of time before something like that happens to me with some of the places that I fish.

Sorry to hear that crap, man.

I would have definitely done something extreme and tried chasing them down which would have resulted in either me or them crashing. Then their parents would probably sue me............Jesus H. what is this country coming to?...........

the way it played out, i didnt even realize that something was wrong with my truck until i was right upon it...... which was a long enough time that they were far, far away.........

in fact, you can see some stickers on my back windshield..... that is what clued me in as i got closer (i have bad vision to say the least)....... as i walked closer and closer, i realized that there was no sticker in the middle of my back windshield..... and instantly felt the blood rush to my face.....

my friend was telling me something like this happened to him .he was coming up a bank with waders on and caught some guy digging thru the cab of his truck  unfortunately for this guy my friend is a fighter with a temper and beat the crap out of the guy and then grabbed a BBQ grill propane tank out of this thieves truck and banged it up and down all over the outside of the guys truck. sorry this happened to you i hope you catch them.

same crap happened to me a little over a month ago.  had a gym bag with some raquette ball stuff stolen out of my car along with my GPS.   Sucks because even if nothing was stolen... you are still paying out of pocket insurance expenses to have it fixed... and dealing with the rate increase because of some *******.

Bad break........sorry to hear but I'm glad you didn't catch them.

I thought Detroit was a rough place until I moved to Florida, they are crazy here.  People just as soon pull a gun or knife on you down here, hear stories all the time.  One thing I've learned, as big and bad as you think you might be there is always someone bigger and badder and I don't want to meet him.

If I'm not mistaken vandalism is covered under the comp of your insurance policy, little or no deductible as a rule and personal property is covered under homeowners, usually a high deductible  :(

.......it is better that i didnt catchem' doing it, but trust me...... i still wish that i had..... im normally a pretty calm, easy going guy.. and few things get me really worked up.... but this was one of them....

oh well, whats done... is done.

as for the ins.

the deductible for me in this case is 250.

Im going to get it fixed today actually in a few hours....

250 isn't that bad, but my back window was perfectly fine before this crap.  that 250 would have been much nicer to spend on some new fishing gear ;)

Man that sucks and it definitely sounds like some teenage thug probably trying to steal a radio or something. Man what is this world coming to!! Cant even go fishing and not worry about someone breaking into your truck. Man!!

its now fixed and back to normal....

250 down the drain, and surely a hike in the insurance premiums. :(

thankful that i was able to get it done so quickly though.  the guys at safelite autoglass did good work too, i might add.

Totally sucks man. be glad you didn't catch 'em. One of the may have pulled a gun and cost you a lot more. Whether you or them, someone's gonna die once the gun comes out.

There is a fella in his 70's in the Charlotte area recently, had his home robbed in a home invasion. He managed to get free, they ran out, he grabbed his gun chased them down and shot a 15 yr old (who was one of the robbers) to death. Things can get really bad really quick.

Glad it worked out, but I can relate to your pain..

Short story re: auto vandilisum...when I was 15 or 16, we were riding in a friends car, out on these old dirt roads. We passed a fairly new Plymouth sedan, we noticed the radio antena broken, but thought nothing of it..So we drive about 1/8 mile down the road and park, we'er sittin there talkin when these 2 guys walk up, they look to be about 20 or so. They ask if we tore up their car, we said no, but noticed the antenna broken as we drove by.

Welp the the guys start acusing us of doing the damage, we try in a friendy manner to explain we Didn't touch their car, when outta the blue, Wham, this dude hits me in my forarm with a 3/4" drive socket wrench..made a pretty nice hole in my arm..for something I/we never did. They then walked off..I never filed a police report.

The moral,,make sure you have the Right guilty party..

My moto re: my truck is...you toucha my truck..I breaka you face.. ;)
