Super User burleytog Posted August 27, 2009 Super User Posted August 27, 2009 Bought a Blackberry Tour today. Just call me the high-tech redneck. Gonna take me a month to figure out every little detail. Man, BR is sure a dog on the BB browser. Almost pointless to visit the site. Hey Glenn, you need a BR Mobile version. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted August 27, 2009 Super User Posted August 27, 2009 My sister just got the same one. How much extra per month is it costing you? I just got an EnV Touch and it is pretty sweet. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted August 27, 2009 Author Super User Posted August 27, 2009 We had to change plans, we lost 500 anytime minutes (had 1000, only using 200-300 every month) but picked up unlimited texting and unlimited data on my line. All in all about $25 extra/month. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted August 27, 2009 Super User Posted August 27, 2009 I just got an EnV Touch and it is pretty sweet. I bought my son the EnV Touch...he says it's awesome. I wouldn't know, he wont let me see it for more than 20 seconds at a time. Quote
tyrius. Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Should've gotten an Iphone. ;D Then you could view BR with no issues!! Quote
Super User burleytog Posted August 27, 2009 Author Super User Posted August 27, 2009 Should've gotten an Iphone. ;D Then you could view BR with no issues!! Not available in this area for at least another 15-18 months. And even then, I don't think I would want one. I'm not a fan of touch screens. Quote

Super User Dan: Posted August 27, 2009 Super User Posted August 27, 2009 plus, Verizon has better coverage...at least in my part of the state. 5bl, it is a nice phone. I really like the keyboard and the touch screen. You can use either to do pretty much everything. I ended up getting it for free because I had a $100 loyalty something or other that gave me a discounted price on top of the rebate. Burley, how do you like the BB so far? My sister's looked pretty cool but I don't think I'd be willing to pay the extra $$ every month. Just not something that I think I would use enough to warrant the price. Quote

They turned on 3 towers about 2 months ago I guess. Better overall coverage should be available for it within the year he says. Quote

I used to feel the same way about touch screen phones and I have fat short fingers and I find the phone very easy to use. Probably the best phone I have ever had. The free apps are cool too. Quote
adclem Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 The G1 works very well for viewing this site amongst others as well. Later, Quote
slider head Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Burley: I dont know where in SW by God Va you are. As a deathstar employee I know for a fact they are turning on 3G from Blacksburg south down I 81 to the Tennessee line. They delivered about 5 tractor trailer loads of the equipment in July to our warehouse. Our warhouse is almost empty of that equipment now. They chose to do Blacksburg 81 south before Roanoke :-/ Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted August 27, 2009 BassResource.com Administrator Posted August 27, 2009 Site works great on the G1 and myTouch. They both have real web browsing built-in. No need to get a software update or buy an app to make it work, like some other phones. : Quote
