When Coke bought it out, they removed the kick as people who were not from Louisiana or Mississippi can't take the kick. I love the Barq's bite and will always get the original formula when visiting Louisiana. Nothing like a cold Barq's and a roast beef po-boy on a hot day. I had no idea you could still get the og. Used to slam Barq's at the horse sale with my Grandpa when I was a young'n. Almost worth a road trip to me. Been craving some boudin anyway. Quote

I tried the Dad's Root Beer since it was something others missed, but Sam you hit it right on the head. Barq's is as good as it gets, and it used to be better than it is now.
