Am I the only one who is obsessed about my full set matching. I play Clevelands only. Hibore Driver, 3 and 5 wood. CG red irons, CG 12 wedges and a Never Compromise putter(owned by Cleveland golf). I know guys who have clubs from 4 different companies in the same bag. It would drive me nuts. I am the same way about golf balls too. I can't stand having Titleist mixed in my bag with my Bridgestones.Am I slightly OCD? Surely I am not alone here.

not at all. i hit titleist dtr irons with a callaway driver and 4 wood. i only use cleveland wedges, and my putter is odysee and hit only titleist prov 1. golf is a mental game so why not begin with the stuff that makes you start with a positive mind set.

im pretty crazy myself......

but not that bad.

i have ping irons.

bertha steel head drivers.

and a fenwick putter.

love'em all, and it doesnt bother me a bit!!!

(got the pings many years ago at a play it again sports,

the bertha's are steel shaft, i cant hit graphite to save my life--- even the stiffest is to giving, and i always slice the crap out of it!!!.

and the fenwick is just straight up cheap, but ive used it for 10 years and cant switch at this point!!!!)

I don't care that they match but wouldn't mind it.  I play a TaylorMade R7 draw driver.  TM V Steel 3 wood.  Nickent 18* hybrid.  3-W Ping i10.  Cleveland CG12 54* and 58* wedges and a Ben Hogan Baby Ben Bettinardi putter I got on my honeymoon 5 years ago.

I have no problems mixing and matching. I don't get clubs just because they are a certain brand.

Ping Bag

Callaway FT-9 Driver <---- I got a sweet deal on this. I bought a FT-5 back in March. I loved it. A few weeks ago the the seam on the bottom started coming apart. Callaway sent me a brand new FT-9 to replace it. I think I like it even more.

Ping G5 3 wood

Callway X-Tour Hybrid

Ping G10 Irons

Titleist Vokey Wedges (54* and 58*)

Odyessey Tour #5 Putter

And I play just about any ball. Right now I am on Bridgestones

There isn't enough room to list all my clubs, past and present. I've been anal about everything matching and I've gone with mix and match as well.

I really have no preference except to put the ball into the hole and use what ever it takes.

In the past 20 years I probably have bought some where around 15 sets of irons, but I ALWAYS go back to my favorite set. Original callaway s2h2 with a memphis 10 shaft, 2-lob.

I'd love to eliminate graphite (which I own) shorten golf ball length and put the emphasis on the game back to shot making.

I am the same way about my clubs matching. My bag and everything in it are King cobra except for my putter, and its a walmart special but i love it.

I think it's pointless to match all of your clubs unless it bothers you so much that it would affect your game. If this is true, maybe see a therapist? ;-)

The only clubs that should match are your irons - 2 through 9, maybe pitching wedge.

I have a Cleveland Comp driver, 8.5 degrees, Graffaloy Blue Tour-X shaft, 15 degree Cleveland Launcher 3-wood with some kind of stiff steel shaft, not sure, Tommy Armour 845 titanium 1-iron S300 shaft, 3-9 are Cleveland TA-3 gunmetal irons with X-100 shafts, 48, 56, and 60 degree wedges, all Cleveland CG 10, and a two-ball putter. I've had the same set for years and see no reason to change it. The only reason I have so much Cleveland stuff (aside from the fact that they make good clubs) is that I got a big discount through my former golf coach who was sponsered by them. Oh, and of course I use the Pro V1. IMO, no better ball has ever been made.

However, I wish the golf technology stopped at the Titleist 975D and the Tour Prestige. Nothing was sweeter than being able to work that driver, and chipping and putting a wound ball around the greens. Of course if you used that technology today, you'd be so far behind the curve that you'd get beat like a drum by any golfer with the same handicap and more modern equipment.

The Maxfli Revolution was a pretty sweet wound ball too. Tour Balatas? Forget about it. A dream around the greens, but you were sacrificing too much distance and forgiveness off the tee unless you were a real stick.
