hey guys and gals keep my in your thoughts when you are out on the lake catchin those big boys. i am going in for hernia surgery this month so i will be out of commission for a while. thanks guys

hope you have a quick recovery. in the mean time since you cant fish i would plop a lap top on youre chest  and explore all the areas of this site there is so much information at youre hands you will be a better fisherman when its time to get back on the water

Ouch! Had a double hernia fixed May last year. That sucked, mostly because I have extremely bad reaction to any narcotic painkiller and the doctor ignored me and loaded me up with them.

thanks every one the doc said i got about 3-4 weeks before i can get back on the water i think he might a little cautious i will see how i feel in a caouple days so far things are going good just sore and tired.

Listen to your doc.  Do not, I repeat, do not go by how you feel.  

If you mess up your recovery by doing something foolish, it will set you back more than the three to four weeks the doc told you to take it easy.

A friend of mine had surgery, and the doc told him to take his pain meds for so many days, even if he thought he was pain free.

A couple of days after the surgery, he felt pain free, and thought he knew better than the doc, so he stopped taking his meds.

The pain returned, and his pills did not touch it.  He ended up having to go back to the doc on an emergency basis, and get another high dose injection to get the pain under control where his meds could maintain it.

Follow your doc's instructions to the "T".  You'll never regret it.
