RiskKid. Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Was crankin Saturday on Old Hickory Lake using a Strike King series 5 Sexy Shad....hooked into something, didn't put up much of a fight. Was surprised to land an unopened can of Bush beer. Hooked it on the upper lip. It was rusted out so the contents was compromised, I decided to release it to the recycling bin. Quote
tritz18 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I was fishing a senko off a shallow flat and caught a backpack. Surprisingly it put up a really good fight Quote

BrnzeBckStalker Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I was fishing in my friends dads' airport farm ponds, and I caught a snapping turtle on a rattle trap. It took me a good 20+ minutes to get the hook out of his mouth. Quote
bass or bass ? Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 While fishing on the Deerfield Beach Fishing Pier, Deerfield Beach Florida, I caught a seagull about 20' above the water in mid cast on a Mirro-Lure. Fought it down from the sky. That was one po'd bird. > Also caught an 18# softshelled turtle in Cypress Creek right next to my grandparents house in Ft.Lauderdale Florida. Another po'd creature. Happy fishing. Quote
Quitlimpin Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 I was fishing in my friends dads' airport farm ponds, and I caught a snapping turtle on a rattle trap. It took me a good 20+ minutes to get the hook out of his mouth. That turtle woulda been the proud owner of a new rattle trap if it were me. Last week I caught a roof turbine on a c-rig. Big sweepin hookset right into the blades. I'd say it was a solid 8 lb'r ;D. Quote
preach4bass Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Caught a goose and a seagull, both on torpedos. :-/ And, yea, they put up a good fight. Quote
Boogey Man Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 I caught an eight or nine inch bass off a bare treble hook once. A buddy of mine dropped his rod and reel over the side the boat and I put a sinker and a treble hook on one of my rods and was dragging the bottom trying to snag his line. We never did find his combo though. Quote
bigtimfish Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 It's kinda cliche but I did in fact catch an old boot. Quote
fish-fighting-illini Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 I watched a buddy of mine reel in an umbrella I caught my wife on a bet with a friend Quote
suenrod Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 I took my daughters fishing when they were very young. It was a stocked lake owned by the company I worked for. (Norfolk Southern Railway) Both were fishing from the bank with simple cane poles and crickets. Catching small panfish. My oldest was not catching much and laid her pole down. Just then the pole darted out into the water and just kept going, and going, and going. She was upset that she lost her pole so I took her up to the dock and used one of the row boats they supplied to start chasing the pole all over the lake. After about a hour of rowing, we managed to catch up to the pole. I grabbed it and handed it to her to pull in. It was a 3-4lb catfish!! She was thrilled!! I actually didn't think we had a chance to catch the floating pole with just a row boat but I had to try. It's now one of my fondest memories and a good fish story to boot! RoD Quote
guitarkid Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 I caught a sock out of a pond the other day... -gk Quote
Cant_catch_fish Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 I was bobber fishing and i caught my cousin. Got him right in the cheek. actually i think i caught him like 2 other times too. i would think he would learn to stay away from me. My casting hasnt got better with age. Oh and there is a smallie(about maybe a lb or probably less) that has 2 of my crank baits on Fort Leonard Wood. Quote
suenrod Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 When I was a young boy, I was fishing off a bank with a dropoff to the water. There was a large bullfrog just over the banks edge just croaking away. I had a small panfish hook on my line and a piece of worm. I dangled it in front of the frog for a while and he snatched it. Hooked him right in the lip. The place I bought bait from traded me a box of worms for him. They said to bring any more I caught since they loved frog legs. :-X RoD Quote
