Palomar Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Do they really work? been thinking of trying something fancy instead of the spray on stuff Quote
bigtimfish Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 I am not familiar with thermacell, what is it? Quote
BadKarma42 Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 I have the lantern and the belt pack. I like them. If you use a latern, you probably want to set it up wind of yourself. Quote
preach4bass Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Yep, it works. Just be sure you start it up a few minutes before you want to use it. I start it up when I get out of the truck and when I get to my deer stand it's producing a nice fog, and you can watch the mosquitoes clearing out. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted July 30, 2009 Super User Posted July 30, 2009 It actually makes a fog? I thought it was some sort of invisible type thing. How does it work anyway? Has anyone used it for fishing? Quote
simplejoe Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Yep they work I use it when I'm hunting and on the boat when I'm night fishing to keep those annoying little buggers away from me. joe Quote
Super User Dan: Posted July 30, 2009 Super User Posted July 30, 2009 Is there any way you can wear it or something? Quote
aceman387 Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 i was thinking about one myself a couple months ago and when i looked on bass pro shops website at the time it got favorable reviews. . Quote
etommy28 Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 yes, they are fantastic. you can get a holster. but it is kinda bulky. but you could were it. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted July 31, 2009 Super User Posted July 31, 2009 They work fine if you stay in one place so the protective "fog" will be around you. If you are fishing in a boat and moving, they are worthless. To operate properly it has to lay flat and not upright in the holster on your belt. If there is a lot of air movement (wind) they are worthless also. I got one with a camo holster, you want it? I used it twice when fishing at night, the mosquitos were not impressed at all. Quote

Hmm, makes sense on the wind issue, I Thought it would at least keep up with ya in the boat. Thanks for the info guys Quote
Steven Ladner Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I've used them for hunting and they've done great. Quote
