Olebiker Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I was practicing Friday for my club tournament Saturday on Lake Talquin when I got caught in a pretty rough thunderstorm. I got back to the dock and took shelter under a picnic pavillion with a couple of other fishermen. After a while the rain stopped and we all walked back to the dock. One of the guys pointed out into the middle of the creek and said, "Yonder goes your boat." Sure enough, In my haste to get in out of the lightning and rain, I had failed to tie it off correctly. Thank goodness those ol' boys were there because there was noone else on that part of the lake. As they took me out to the boat one of the guys pointed to a blue heron and said, "I like them birds. It's them durn catamarans I caint stand." I assume he meant cormorants. : Quote
Branuss04 Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Hahaha... well it happens to the best of us. I did it with my float tube once. Thing was there was no boats on the lake so I had to go for a swim. You live and you learn right?? 8-) Quote

Shad_Master Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Several years ago I fished a club tournament with my son (probably 12 years old at the time) - his job was to hold the rope while I backed the trailer down to launch the boat - he was holding the rope alright, only he forgot to hook it to the boat - the boat slipped off the trailer and began to float out in the launch area while he just stood there with a blank look on his face - the other guys helped haul it back, but my son was the target of lots of jokes that day.
