Super User Sam Posted July 12, 2009 Super User Posted July 12, 2009 Dock Master, the only way a Tarheel football player will be honored at UNC is if he can dribble a basketball. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted July 12, 2009 Author Super User Posted July 12, 2009 I'm ready for September 5th. Alabama loaded at defense. Greg McElroy is indeed a new starter, but hey this guy sat on bench for 2 years in high school behind Chase Daniel and in one year broke all of Daniel's record including the Texas state records. McElroy a smart guy, he threw a really good 20 yard bomb in corner of end zone against Auburn. I saw the A-game, he real smart, he going get the job done. Alabama got all of their linebackers back, (Rolando McClain is a leader) and they got a guy who could move a mountain sitting at nose guard, and bunch strong-speedy guys in the secondary. While I'm concern how quickly the ground game will be establish for Alabama against VT, but Alabama should prevail with their stout defense. P.S. Javier "no fair catch" Arena will give Beamer a taste of his own medicine. Quote
Super User Sam Posted July 13, 2009 Super User Posted July 13, 2009 So Root Beer, you are saying that the SEC is better than the ACC in football? I agree. Game could be over by the half. Quote
drmnbig Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I can't help but to grin from ear to ear every time I hear an Alabama fan just look past VT like they are nothing. It'll just make it feel a bit sweeter when we come home with a victory. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted July 13, 2009 Super User Posted July 13, 2009 VT was still searching for a starting QB last year to start the season. They have one now, and Alabama will be trying to erase that embarassing loss to Utah last year. Good early season game. Biggest thing Bama has going this year, they don't have Florida and Georgia on the schedule. How about the coach known as "Big Game Bob" , how many more chances will OU get to add to their already famous name of CHOKELAHOMA. Will the Heisman finally have its second two time winner? Tebow or Bradford, or will a new name arrive on the scene to throw his name in the hat for the hunt for the Heisman? You know Texas aTm has slipped since the days of the Wrecking Crew defenses of Sloccum when they list Tech as rivalry game. lol aTm and UT has always been blood match, and now, they list Tech and aTm. lol, Did the USC and ND game make ESPN's top rivalry? The best season thus far for Charlie Wiess was from the old coaches recruits, Weiss was given more time than TY was given, and TY did a better job based on the short amount of time he was given. Only way to answer awaiting questions is to tee the ball up and play some college football. Hookem Horns Quote
Captain Obvious Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Come on you okies and aggies I'm ready lol Quote
NewAngler Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Notre Dame. Comeback. No hawaii bowl this year! Quote
Super User Root beer Posted July 14, 2009 Author Super User Posted July 14, 2009 I can't help but to grin from ear to ear every time I hear an Alabama fan just look past VT like they are nothing. It'll just make it feel a bit sweeter when we come home with a victory. I'm not looking past them. I'm just saying, our defense makes me giggle like school girl. ( i know that seems weird, but come on, this defense is extremely talented and stacked.) Asked your ACC buddy Clemson about number 62! Watch the snap at :52 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAvpXkK8Ijs Watch 2:03 and on up. 9 starters in those clip are back. The entire upfront is back except one DE i believe. That defense is brutal. jimmieO Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I think anyone is crazy to vote against Florida this year..... The SEC is going to be outrageously tough again this year. Toughest conference in the land. Quit complaining about out of conference schedules! When you play guys as tough as this-week in and week out-you need a break! War Eagle! Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted July 14, 2009 Super User Posted July 14, 2009 Brent, The Espn article to start this thread had TT and aTm as one of the top 10 rivalaries. lol lol, aTm has their hands full with Baylor. Baylor will not be the Baylor of old, they still may not win many games, but they will make it interesting this year. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted July 14, 2009 Super User Posted July 14, 2009 Won't happen unless theres a major re-alignment. Baylor has too much money, and they offer more in other sports. Baylor will always be Baylor in football, they are stuck in the middle of some of the most fierce recruiting in the state. Texas and OU, aTm, Tech,, not much for Baylor and TCU to recruit from on most years. Good talent, but not enough blue chippers imo. Wareagle, How did Texas do? Hookem 8-) Quote
Super User Catt Posted July 14, 2009 Super User Posted July 14, 2009 I thought LSU could tackle? Baseball is over Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted July 14, 2009 Super User Posted July 14, 2009 Yes Catt, baseball is over. How did Texas do last year and the ten years prior to that? We've won more than any other BCS college in this decade. Hookem 8-) Quote
etommy28 Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 its the GATORS, no one else, the only test before the championship. LSU in Baton Rouge.... tough but the week before FLA bye, LSU VS. UGA..... again sec champ. and 3 rings and 2 heismans for tebow Quote
1inStripes Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 App State will be tuff in FCS. The Southern dominates there for the most part. Appy, Furman, Marshall, and Georgia Southern have represented them well for year. ETSU even had some tough teams in the 90s. Go Vols. D1 Go C-N Eagles. D2 Go Wasps! D3 Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted July 15, 2009 Super User Posted July 15, 2009 LMAO,, You don't have a dog in the hunt. You gotta hang others coat tails. Fix that. 8-) Quote

Super User Dan: Posted July 15, 2009 Super User Posted July 15, 2009 App State will be tuff in FCS. The Southern dominates there for the most part. Appy, Furman, Marshall, and Georgia Southern have represented them well for year. ETSU even had some tough teams in the 90s. The Southern Conference is no longer dominant. The CAA has better teams from top to bottom and also SEVERAL championship contenders. The Southern has a couple of good teams but not nearly as many as the CAA. Also it really only has one championship contender. Quote
1inStripes Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Wofford will probably be back in the mix with ASU. Seems like Furman or GSU could come back in the mix soon. Quote
