tallydude Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 I haven't been fishing as much this year because I decided to go back to school at age 31 to finish my degree. I stupidly flunked out of college when I was 19 for God only knows what reason. At the encouragement of my fiancee and mother-in-law (an amazing woman), I enrolled at Tallahassee Community College last August. Forty-one credit hours later, I have completed my AA degree and graduated with a 4.0 gpa. I raised my cumulative GPA from a 1.51 to just over 3.0. I'm enrolling at Florida State in the fall with two years to go on my history degree. For those of you thinking of going back or lamenting that you never finished, it's not too late! Quote
Eddie Munster Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Congrats man, you just increased your earning potential. The bait monkey lies in wait for you. Quote
Dad_Golf_Fish Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Well done! You're right, it is never too late. I went back at 32 and completed my B.S. I think at this age we understand much better what is at stake and why we are doing it. Good luck with your next step. Quote

Super User Dan: Posted July 18, 2009 Super User Posted July 18, 2009 That's really great, man. That's quite an accomplishment that you were able to pull your GPA up above 3.0 after starting off poorly. Good luck with your classes at FSU. BTW, What are you planning to do with the history degree? My brother and my former roommate are both history majors. Quote
